Arjun (Silambarasan), an animation artist living in London with his uncle (VTV Ganesh), meets Nisha (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar) in a London pub. She is an aspiring dancer who is living with her aunt Veena (Shobana). After going around together for a day, Nisha proposes a relationship, and Arjun agrees. Arjun hates Nisha attending salsa classes with her friend Mojo as her partner. However, he agrees to marry her.
After their marriage, Nisha makes it clear that she still wants to dance and enter the UK competition “Let’s Dance”, and make a career for herself. Arjun suddenly discovers that he is, at bottom, a “Pachai Thamizhan” who believes that a woman’s place is in the home (preferably the kitchen, but she has the freedom to walk from one room to another if she wants). On the advice of his uncle, he impregnates her, so that she stays away from dancing.

Appu and Raja are twin brothers who were separated soon after their birth. Years later Appu, a dwarf, has become a circus clown and is loved by everyone while Raja is a car mechanic. When Appu’s love is rejected as he is a dwarf he tries to commit suicide. His mother comforts him and reveals to him that while she was pregnant with her twins their father Sethupathy was killed by four criminals Francis, Dharmaraj, Nallasivam and Satyamoorthy and also poisoned her which is the reason he turned a dwarf. Appu now decides to take revenge against the criminals but his lost twin brother Raja is framed for his crimes by mistake.

Shakti (Madhavan) is a young man from a village with no job but much ambition and dreams. As he sees his life pass him by, stuck in a rut in his hometown, he decides that he will try his fortunes elsewhere. Chennai beckons him and off goes Shakti to join his uncle Kirikalam (Vadivelu), who has a stall of magic tricks at an exhibition. Kirikalam is not really a magician, but is posing as one, and his amateurish tricks don’t exactly bring in big crowds.
Next door to Shakti and Kirikalam’s stall though, is one ever-populated with visitors. The reason: it’s an all-girls stand, with mermaid costumes as the theme. Velli (Reema Sen) is the ‘head mermaid’ at this stall run by her sister, and bitter quarrels between her and Shakti ensue, when he feels that she and her team are unfairly taking their customers away, and she has this impression of him being an unsavory character. This misunderstanding is seen at different occasions where Velli and Shakti just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time — be it when Shakti gets off the bus from his village, asks for directions and is told to follow Velli, walking in the distance (Velli thinks he’s a womaniser) or when Shakti finally catches up with a miscreant who had picked his pocket and demands his money back — only Velli walks into the scene only at the demanding part. This whole collage of scenes is animated, with Kirikalam and Shakti trying to woo customers back to their stall, Shakti and Velli getting into arguments, and a general state of “fun” ruckus. Of course, love has been brewing as an undercurrent between the two young people.

The film tells the story about Denes and Karadi, living in this 21st Century, and living life to the fullest just like any other youngsters. They aspire to be where the limelight is, work for their dough but with an exception, their lives also bring the fast life of cheating and deceiving if only to lead the life of the rich and famous, but in this case, a wannabe life of the rich and famous. Just like any other teenagers fresh from college, starting out their lives seem like a possible feat where the sky is the limit, and as the saying goes, go where no man has gone before and have no fear treading on calm water.

After a rocky start, a friendship develops between a happy-go-lucky youth and a girl from the city.

In the process, he finds the culprit Manickvel (Upendra), only to receive a rude shock to know his identity.
For, the murderer is none other than a former police officer, who inspired Sathyam to take the cop job. Revealing the reason behind his change of mind, the ex-cop says that he is on a killing spree as he failed to set right things in khakhi uniform.

Goundamani, the ‘counter king, makes a comeback this time with a lead role dealing with the nuances of local politics

In a tiny concrete-and-tin Chennai home in the slums live two young brothers with their mother and grandmother. With the boys’ father in prison for unknown reasons and with an ageing mother-in-law, the mother does her best to keep the kitchen fires burning. The brothers spend their time playing games and stealing and devouring eggs from crows’ nests. Their love for these eggs leads them to start calling themselves “Periya Kaaka Muttai” ( Big Crow Egg) and “Chinna Kaaka Muttai” (Small Crow Egg).
The young boys constantly beg their mother and grandmother for toys they cannot afford, and later for a television. They don’t yet understand that the two women can’t give them everything they want. When their mother and grandmother finally do bring home a television – a gift from the government to ration card holders who live below the poverty line – it’s like the opening of a portal. The boys see a pizza commercial on TV whose steaming, slow-motion images make the unfamiliar food look like manna from heaven. Meanwhile, a brand new pizzeria comes up in the neighbourhood, and actor Silambarasan alias Simbu comes to its opening. Remembering the looks of enjoyment on Simbu’s face when he tasted a pizza at the pizzeria, the boys thereafter think of nothing else but getting their first taste of a pizza.

The movie starts of with Azhagar, the CEO of a taxi business, receiving an award and GoCabs CEO Vinayak congratulating him. Then, it shows Chandramouli waiting in traffic with a green Premier Padmini. He arrives at his son Raghav’s boxing match, and they argue about the car. Afterward, we learn about Madhu, Raghav’s girlfriend, and a flashback reveals that they met after Chandramouli accidentally hit the back of Madhu’s Vespa. Later on, there has been a series of crimes involving GoCab drivers, and Vinayak cannot sponsor Raghav for the state championships, so he decides to go to Azhagar for a sponsorship. He goes on to win the state championships, and the prize is a Suzuki Baleno. Chandramouli asks Raghav to go for a drive with him, to which he agrees. During the drive, their Padmini gets in an accident with a lorry, and Pugazhendhi, Azhagar’s assistant, beats Chandramouli to death. Raghav later wakes up in a hospital, and learns that due to the accident, he can only see two feet in front of him, and also learns that his father is dead. A couple weeks later, Raghav receives a death certificate for a person called Bairavi. We later learn in a flashback that she and Chandramouli were close friends, and that she was killed by Pugazh and his men. The rest of the story is about how Raghav finds out why they killed Bairavi and Chandramouli.

Desperate brain cancer-ridden Caucasian George States, with only six months to live, decides to capture a male cobra with hopes of obtaining Nagmani from the shape shifting Naga female. For reasons that remain obscure throughout the film, this will not only cure his brain cancer but also make him immortal. He hires workers in the jungles of Natchi, Tamil Nadu, who witness the intimacy of the cobras, and capture the male, allowing the female to escape. George then holds the male cobra in a glass cage in the hopes that the female cobra will attempt a rescue, and he will then release it in exchange for the Nagamani. The region experiences horror and religious awakening after the enraged female cobra. With the image of its oppressor in its eyes, sheds its snake skin and takes on a female human form, setting out on its deadly mission of tracking down and destroying her mate’s oppressor, and whoever else gets in her way, whether involved or not.

Govindan (Manivannan) is a thief who has two children. Aadhi (Pasupathy) and Mathi (‘Chiyaan’ Vikram). They migrate to neighboring village and meet a retired agricultural officer, Chidambaram (Vijaya Kumar) who is in deep debts and is under pressure from the village’s landlord, Kalingarayar (Murali) to clear his debts. In efforts to help Chidambaran, Mathi confronts Seetha Lakshmi (Asin), Kalingarayar’s daughter, who comes to collect the money Chidambaram owes her father. Seetha Lakshmi starts to acquire a liking for Mathi but keeps it hidden due to her father’s atrocious temper. In an attempt to teach Kalingarayar a lesson, Mathi forcibly ties the mangalsutram around Seetha’s neck. Kalingarayar, realizing his daughter’s love for Mathi, comes down to arrange a grand re-marriage between the two. But things go awry when Manicka Vel (Biju Menon), Seetha Lakshmi’s maternal uncle comes to town in an effort to stop the wedding between the two as he has plans of marrying her and wiping her family fortune.

More stereotypes are stuffed in as he refuses to take help from his dad in Delhi, is thrown out from his rented flat by the landlord, and comes away with his calculative companion. One day, a movie director named Rajeev Sharma (Mohnish Behl) sees Sameer dancing and calls him to his office. Soon, Sameer is signed as the male lead in his film, and his friend Tina (Genelia D’Souza) is selected as the choreographer on the same project. Homeless, Sameer sleeps in his car and works as a dance teacher in a school. Subsequently, Sameer loses his film and is disillusioned. Tina finds this out and asks him how he can spend his life like this. After some time, Tina tells him that she also quit the film and did not want to be the choreographer for that film because she saw him upset. Sameer realises the love Tina had for him. Tina encourages him to participate in a television talent-hunt show, the winner of which will win the same role that Sameer was to play. After some time, he agrees to participate in it. After filling up the contest form, he also says “I love you” to Tina. In his screen-test, Sameer dedicates his monologue to his mother. After his monologue, during the interview, he comes to know that his father’s shop in Delhi has been demolished. He promises Tina that he will come back for her and leaves to meet his father, heart-broken about the whole thing. After watching Sameer’s performance on TV, his father convinces him to go back to Mumbai and participate in the show.

A singer (Bharathi) who is tricked into marriage by his mother-in-law, his wife (Gowri )is enormously possessive about his fame and his female fans. One day they encounter into a fight and he decides escape from home. On the way he meets someone in the bus who is also running from her life as a dancer because her husband forcefully lets her to prostitution. Gowri finds him with another woman and gets furious. She files for a divorce, informs media about Jyothi. Jyothi’s husband gets this news comes to find Jyothi. One thing led to another Gowri finally become mentally unstable because of her own decisions. Bharathi visits her in the mental hospital with Jyothi. Jyothi then understands that Gowri really needs Bharathi and they belong to each other, Jyothi leaves Bharathi with her. Jyothi’s husband becomes a cripple and understands his mistakes, reunites with jyothi in the end.

Over lunch, both Malar’s friend (Vicky) and his own friend (Suja) advise him to sort it with Malar. Vicky questions why Karthik would fight with such a beautiful woman as Malar. Karthik not knowing what Malar looks like decides to take a look at her. When he sees Malar he falls in love at first sight, he then tries to reconcile with Malar, but Malar is not willing to forgive a flirt like Karthik. Karthik becomes desperate and begins to follow Malar and in a chance meeting orchestrated by Karthik he introduces himself as a sweet and kind person by the name of ‘Sundar’.
