Velu agrees to go to jail for smuggling sandalwood to save his friend Karuna, whose aim is to become a forest officer. When Karuna’s true colors come out, can Velu save the forest and its people?

The story revolves around an insecure teetotaler Sarathy Raman (Karunas), who feels bad due to his dark skin (his wife Vasanthi (Karthika) is fairer than him), who is often the brunt of many jokes. Because he feels inferior to his wife, he begins to suspect her of infidelity and thinks that she will one day elope with a lover. After a misunderstanding, Sarathy and his mother are estranged, which further weakens the bond between Sarathy and Vasanthi. How Sarathy resolves his issues and gets back together with Vasanthi forms the rest of the story.

The film was shot extensively in the forests of Thanjavur, Mysore and Sathyamangalam. Actress Shammu was the only professional actress to be cast in the film and Sunil Kumar prepared for his role by standing for hours under the sun to sport a tan as well as learning the basics of different forms of martial arts. It became the actress’s final film before she left the film industry to complete her education. Members of the Irula tribe also acted in the film.

In this investigation, they find out it was Vikram and his associates who operate the porn websites and their various ways and means of collecting the videos. Though Manoj writes about Vikram in his magazine with proper evidence, Vikram escapes with an anticipatory bail. How Manoj and Imran traps Vikarm and does Vikram and his associates get caught and brought to justice forms the rest of the story.
