After the passing away of his dark-skinned wife, from who they sired Uday, Dubai-based criminal don, Shankar Shetty re-married a fair-skinned woman, who gave birth to fair-skinned Sanjana. After the couple’s passing, Uday takes over in his dad’s footsteps, and takes it upon himself to try and get Sanjana married – in vain, as no one wants to be associated with a crime family. Then Uday’s associate, Sagar Pandey, aspiring live-action painter, who had loved Iravati, got beat-up by her brothers, and was re-named Majnu, assists in finding a young man, Rajiv, who lives with his maternal uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo and aunt, and through extortion compels Ghunghroo to accept this alliance. But Ghunghroo, at the very first opportunity, gets Rajiv to fall in love with another young woman in Sun City, South Africa. When the time comes to get Rajiv formally engaged to this woman, he finds out that Sanjana and she are the very same woman.

This is a conspiracy theory period movie based on true events, that led to the eventual assassination of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The movie demonstrates a violent India, at the backdrop of a non-violent Gandhi, and hard-line fanatic mindsets beginning to grow roots in an India divided on the basis of religion. This movie is a story of three police officers in different parts of India, who, well aware of the intelligence that Gandhi’s life is under threat, must take key decisions that would eventually either save the Mahatma, or the country.

Five young people decide that life is not worth living anymore for various reasons.
Anand Babu, the son of a judge is an idealist and never suspects that the many gifts that are showered upon him by his father were things received as bribes. One day he shoots a video song about corruption in the society dressed as a robot. Seeing this, his friend remarks that his own father is very corrupt. The angered Anand Babu beats up his friend and challenges him that if that were true, he would commit suicide out of shame. Back at home, he sees his father taking a large amount of money as bribe for a lawsuit. The shocked Anand Babu argues with his father over his corrupt practices. His mother budges in and starts justifying corruption which has brought the family luxuries like the bungalow, car and Anand’s Yamaha bike. Besides, a large amount of money is needed for the marriage dowry of their two daughters (Anand’s sisters). Anand is unable to bear this and immediately sets fire to his new Yamaha bike. He leaves home.

Two parallel stories – one with an old man looking for his long lost love and the other about an elder sister seeking revenge against those responsible for the death of her sibling.

Faced with several debts, a village accountant Gandhi Arumugam (Vijay Sethupathi) leaves his village near Madurai to head to Chennai with his best friend Muthupandi Selvam alias Pandi (Yogi Babu) to get all the documents necessary for going to London, where they plan to make money to pay off their debts. They approach two middlemen to help them get the passport and British tourist visa necessary for them to go to London. The middlemen claim that the British Deputy High Commission would prefer to give tourist visas to those who are already married, so the duo are forced to add their “wife’s” name while applying for the passport, with Gandhi adding his “wife’s” name as Karmeghakuzhali, following a suggestion from their real estate broker, Murugesan (Singampuli). However, Gandhi’s visa application is rejected, forcing him to remain in Chennai and take up a job as an accountant with a drama troupe Stray Factory, run by Master (Nassar), while Pandi passes his visa interview and leaves for London with the help of a passport officer, Kumar (S. S. Stanley).

Civil engineer Saravanan raises funds to buy land and start his own venture. But when he realises that the title is not in his name he also realises that the broker who sold the land is absconding.

Selvam and Bhaskar, two thieves with good intentions, hide with the help of Radha who is an illegitimate child living with his father’s family in the guise of a maid.

The story revolves around Maran (Kishore), who works in a bakery. He and his wife (Latha Rao) are searching for a house to rent. A shady broker (Scissor Manohar) gets Maran a house under his budget, but he has to face the sanctions of the house owner (Bala Singh) if he wants to stay in the house. The house owner will only allow a family of four, but Maran has three children, making it five members in his family, including him and his wife. Maran has no other option, so he lies to the house owner and hides one of his kids in the box which he uses to load his bakery goods..[5]
