Sunderrajan aka Sura (Shiva) comes to Chennai from Coimbatore on his way to Saudi Arabia. He is received by Marthandam (S. P. B. Charan), a veterinary doctor who is going to marry his sister soon. After the travel agent informs Sura that he cannot taste liquor or women in Saudi, he and Marthandam go to a wine shop to have the last gulp. It is a dry day thanks to elections. Sura is determined to taste the ‘quarter’ and starts his journey to various places in Chennai where he is told that liquor would be available. He goes to a politico who supplies wine for votes, a star hotel, an Anglo-Indian group of youngsters, a fish market, a gambling den, a kulfi shop, and a brothel house, among other places, all in search of ‘quarter’. During his trip, he meets Saraswathi aka Saro (Lekha Washington), who attempts suicide after her parents scold her, and King-Prince, a father-son duo (both roles played by John Vijay) who runs a gambling center. Aadama Jaichomada 2014
The movie is about unraveling the identity of the mysterious ‘Albert’, who heads the spot fixing operation for the IPL Matches in Chennai. The Chennai Police Commissioner (K. S. Ravikumar) gets a tip off that Albert plans to fix a bowler to spot fix a specific over in the semifinal match of the IPL. He informs his officers to be sharp and on the lookout for ‘Albert’ or any clues leading to Albert. Dhayalan (Balaji Venugopal), Albert’s agent, uses a taxi belonging to Panneer (Karunakaran) to travel all over Chennai, his motive being to confuse the police by constantly travelling and confusing the GPS locators. Dhayalan and Panneer bond and swap life stories. Panneer drops Dhayalan at his hotel and is asked to return the following morning. When Panneer goes to Dhayalan’s room the following morning, he saw Dhayalan dead with a knife in his chest. This brings Inspector Bhoominathan (Bobby Simha) and his sidekick Constable Mariadas (Chetan), who arrest Panneer as a suspect for murdering Dhayalan. However, Panneer is whisked away by a film producer (Aadukalam Naren), who comes in the guise of a Maharashtra Police Officer. He wants Panneer, who is the last person to have seen Dhayalan alive, because he wants to place a bet on the match to win big and pay off a producer (Radha Ravi) to whom he owes several crores. Eventually, the police sets a trap for Albert with Panneer playing a major role, but the plot turns awry when Albert manages to get away with it and with Panneer winning two crores from his bet, which he uses to set up his own call taxi company, and his wife Rama (Vijayalakshmi), who sets up her own restaurant.

The film revolves around Madhavan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), who unknowingly kills a teenager, and his eldest son Raja takes the blame and is sentenced to jail for five years. After returning from jail, his father refuses to accept him still with no knowledge that his son was innocent, and so Raja moves to Madurai and there he rescues the life of the son of Maniannan (Charan Raj), the village landlord, and then Raja turns his right hand and is named as Madurai Raja. Years later, he started being known as Pokkiri Raja (Mammootty).
Meanwhile, Surya (Pritviraj), Madhavan Nair’s younger son, is a young, energetic, educated, naughty guy who is well-famous for his rowdyism in his village. He is sent to Ernakulam to his brother-in-law Sugunan (Suraj Venjaramoodu) to change his character, who is a scary cat. At Ernakulam, Surya falls in love with Aswathy (Shriya Saran), unknowing that she is the daughter of Rajendra Babu (Siddique), the City Police Commissioner. Sugunan takes advantage of Surya’s character and sends him in his uniform to take care of some severe police cases. Surya gets arrested for this offence. Rajendra Babu finds that Surya is in love with his daughter and charges Surya with another drugs case and makes it a non-bailable offence. Meanwhile, Rajendra Babu plans to murder Surya in jail, and he gives the contract to Pokkiri Raja. At this point, Madhavan Nair goes to Madurai in search of his elder son who left for Madurai 10 years back, and asks for his help to rescue his younger son Surya. After realising that Surya is his brother, Raja starts the game to help his family and end Rajendra Babu.

Arun (Ramesh Arvind) is married to Leelavathi (Kalpana) in a forced marriage. He is embarrassed by his wife’s plain looks and her weight. When he meets Priya (Heera Rajagopal) – who works in a building construction company, he hides from her the fact that he is married and has an affair with her.
When he takes Priya with him on a vacation to Bangalore, he bumps into his old friend Dr. Sakthivel Gounder (Kamal Haasan) – an orthopedic surgeon from Coimbatore who is also in Bangalore with his wife Palani (Kovai Sarala) and his son Anand – travelling with him in the same flight and even staying in the same hotel. Sakthivel is called to Arun’s room in the night – as Arun has slipped his disc and the hotel doctor is unavailable – and bumps into Priya, thus finding out about the affair.

Ravi (Ravi Teja) works as a collection agent of ICICI in Bangalore and leads a happy life along with his friends and his father Mohan Rao (Prakash Raj) who wishes to see Ravi married to a girl soon. Once Ravi rushes to a Hospital where his friend (‘Satyam’ Rajesh) is admitted as he tried to commit suicide by drinking nail polish solution and asks the reason for it. Then he describes about the traits of Shruti (Shruti Haasan) and her uncle Crazy Mohan (Brahmanandam). The duo have a habit of cheating gullible young men including his friend and Ravi decides to teach them a lesson. Ravi enters their life as a gullible youngster and starts torturing them. Crazy Mohan’s plans and attempts always go in vain before him. As a part of their cunning plans, Crazy Mohan advises Shruti to ask Ravi to marry her. As fate would have it, Ravi also comes with a marriage proposal to Shruti. Then the pair approach Mohan Rao and tell him that Ravi is in love with Shruti and that he proposed to her.

Prabhu Deva and Meena played the leading roles, whilst the film featured an extensive cast, along with a bevy of supporting actors. The film released on 14 January 1998 and became a big success at the box office. The film was loosely based on the 1995 Hollywood movie Two Much.

He is just back from five years of prison life and it was for his area councilor, who promised him to provide a posh life. Then, we have Yazhini (Madonna Sebastian) who loses her IT job during recession and due to financial crisis, she stays in the small flat opposite Kathir. The rest of the film is all about how these two people with drastically different dreams gel with ease and develop a liking for each other.
