The movie is about the journey of a Malayali youth Anwar (Prithviraj) into the clutches of anti-social elements. The protagonist has another hidden agenda in joining the terrorist outfit. The movie opens with visuals of the Coimbatore bomb blast and the introduction of a special team under Stalin Manimaran (Prakash Raj) who arrests Babu Sait (Lal), a local community leader as a suspect in the bomb blast case. Meanwhile, Anwar, a Muslim youth is arrested while carrying with some Hawala money and is sent to jail with Babu Sait and his team.
Anwar performs his Namaaz daily five times. He is also fascinated by the terrorist activities of Babu Sait. Babu Sait helps Anwar in getting bail and interests him in his activities. Anwar is attracted towards terror acts and even successfully terminates two local drug dealers. Soon he becomes the most trusted and obedient right hand of Babu Sait. Anwar succeeds in planting a bomb in the police headquarters and is soon introduced to Basheer Bhai (Sampath Raj), who selects him to spearhead another big, but dangerous project of chain blasts. Their plans are to plant a series of chain blasts in Mumbai. Though Anwar goes on with their plans, he has a haunting flashback, which forms the twist in the story.

The pundit’s son Kundan (Dhanush) has fallen for the girl at first sight. That they’re both kids makes us dismiss it as a meaningless crush. But a few years later, the boy is still in love with the girl, Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). When she’s in school, he follows her around holding her hand and getting slapped in the process. Finally, she relents because of his “consistency”. The film shifts cities when Zoya gets into JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University), and through her, we are introduced to the idealistic and political culture of the place. She discovers a long-lost strength as she confronts and then falls for student leader Akram (Abhay Deol). The film takes a turn when Zoya returns to her hometown after eight long years only to find some things changed, and others surprisingly the same.

The story is about Raaj (Sumanth), a fashion photographer who is caught in between his wife Mythili (Priyamani) and his ex-lover Priya (Vimala Raman). However, their relationship improves with time, and they finally get close. Just when things look to settle down, Priya comes back into Raaj’s life unexpectedly. He’s very curious about why Priya left him abruptly in the past. Priya is later kidnapped by her scorned lover (Ajay). Raaj saves her from his clutches subsequently. In an unexpected twist, it is revealed that Mythili and Priya were actually classmates in school.
