It is a hilarious film in which the hero is a wedding planner. He incurs losses because of the heroine, who employs him at one point. She wants him to stop her wedding to a guy, who her parents approve, by saying that their horoscopes do not match. However, the hero double-crosses her when he gets to know that the bridegroom is willing to offer him more money to ensure that the wedding happens. Later, as the arrangements for the wedding are on, he realises the wicked nature of the bridegroom and decides to stop the wedding with the help of his family members. How his family comprising his mom and uncle, help him stop the wedding is what the film is about.

Padayappa is a mechanical engineer who returns to his village from Chennai after three years to attend his sister’s wedding. Padayappa’s family have been the richest landlords of their village and Chieftains for their region. Padayappa’s great grandfather had decreed all Hindu marriages in their region must take place in the Murugan temple, after the chieftain has verbally confirmed the consent from bride and groom. The film focuses on two love stories in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli; one takes place in the period of a day, while the other ensues for months.
Amudha (Ananya), a native village girl from Tiruchi, arrives in Chennai for a job interview, but her sister is unable to meet her to direct her to her destination. Amudha enlists the aid of a stranger Gautham (Sharvanand), who agrees to take her as far as the bus stop. However, he ends up travelling with her the entire day, waiting for her during her interview, and dropping her off at her sister’s home. In the course of the day, she comes to understand him and becomes fond of him. While remaining calm and reserved, Gautham reciprocates her feelings. The following day, Amudha returns to Tiruchi, where she realizes that she has fallen in love with Gautham and rejects marriage proposals that come her way. She decides to return to Chennai to meet him. Meanwhile, Gautham realizes that he has fallen in love with Amudha and decides to go to Tiruchi to find her, despite not knowing her address and other any details except her name.
