Major Jaidev “Jai” Rajvansh (Anil Kapoor) and his fellow officer manage to rescue a leading politician as well as capture his kidnapper, Abhrush (Danny Denzongpa). The terrorist has been wanted for years and he is finally captured by the two officers. Jai returns to a joyous welcome and is declared a national hero. His senior(Om Puri) offers him to take leave for a week and returns to his hometown. There he meets his childhood friend Anjali (Madhuri Dixit) who has always harboured love for Jai. Anjali wants to make most of Jai’s holiday and tries to get close to him and spend time with him as much as she can.

Varun (Vijay Deverakonda) is a video game designer living in the UK. He is the son of Vasudev (Nassar), the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. When consequences make Vasudev resign his post, he decides to pass it on to Varun. Now Chief Minister, Varun accepts this, though he does nothing except play video games. Consequences turn plates negatively to Vasudev, who is sentenced for prison. After Vasudev is arrested, riots take place. In the riots, a bus gets burnt, and a schoolgirl dies in the fire. Varun, who was out to meet his guru Mahendran (Sathyaraj), goes to the spot where the bus was burnt. He is heartbroken hearing the wails of the girl’s mother. He then realizes the importance of his position and stops the riots. This incident paves way for him to gain support.
Vaagai Sooda Vaa 2011
The story is set in the 1960s. Veluthambi alias Velu (Vimal) is a graduate aspiring for a government job. His father Annamalai (Bhagyaraj) advises him to work temporarily for a NGO that helps in educating rural children so that he will be given a priority for government job. Velu, although uninterested, joins the NGO and gets appointed as a teacher in a small dry village which lacks basic facilities. The entire village works for a rich landlord JP (Ponvannan), who owns a brick factory. Velu tries to convince the villagers to send their kids to learn, but in vain.
Madhiarasi alias Madhi (Iniya) owns a tea shop in the village and falls in love in Velu. Also the village kids play pranks on Velu, which irritates him. Velu understands that the villagers are exploited by JP, owing to their illiteracy by not paying them properly. Velu tries to make the villagers understand JP’s true colour, but they don’t believe him as they see JP as their savior.
Finally, the villagers understand that they are being cheated, and they demand proper payment for the bricks made by them. They also realize the value of education and send their kids to learn under Velu. Now Velu gets a government job but turns down the offer as he prefers to continue working for the NGO which gives him satisfaction. In a few days, he gets a letter from the NGO stating it is closing down due to financial difficulties. Velu worries as he is jobless and decides to work along with villagers in making bricks. But the villagers come for the rescue and want him to continue as a teacher for their kids, and in turn they agree to pay him. Velu also marries Madhi, and the movie ends with him feeling proud that the villagers understood the value of education.
Iru Kodugal 1969
Gopinath (Gemini Ganesan) falls in love with Janaki (Sowcar Janaki) and they get married in Kasi. The marriage is not accepted by Gopinath’s mother and the couple gets separated. Janaki is pregnant and her father (V. S. Raghavan), realising that no man will marry Janaki a second time, decides to make her a collector. Gopinath meanwhile had moved to South India, where he later married Jaya (Jayanthi) by hiding his previous marriage. They live a happy life with their three children and Jaya’s father. Gopinath works as a clerk in the collector’s office. A new collector arrives at the office, and it turns out to be Janaki. They tend to work together, until one of the employees in Janaki’s office, Babu (Nagesh), spreads a rumour stating that there is an affair between Janaki and Gopinath. This rumour reaches Jaya and she is completely disturbed. Jaya discovers the secret of Gopinath’s affair with Janaki. Meanwhile, the sons of both Janaki and Jaya, Ramu and Prabhakar drowned in water and have been admitted to Hospital. Somehow Jaya manages the disturbance of the secret and accepts Janaki as her sister. But Ramu dies in hospital while Prabhakar survives. Jaya gives Janaki her son as a gift. Janaki and Prabhakar leave for abroad as Janaki got her duty abroad.
