Robbers steal money from three brothers who are gangsters and enter a bungalow. The gangsters chase them, and after getting in, they all have to figure out how to come out from the bungalow.

The film revolves around two college friends where one is a new student. The new student falls in love with his friend’s sister without knowing she is his friend’s sister. The plot forms when he realize the truth.

Mayandi (Rajkiran) was a brave and strong man who was respected by villagers. Mayandi was in love with his cousin Solaiyamma (Meena) and wanted to get married to her but they have nothing in common. The soft-spoken Solaiyamma was afraid of him. In the meantime, Murugesan (Raj Chander), a city youngster, fell in love with Solaiyamma’s little sister Kasthuri (Saradha Preetha). Later, Mayandi and Solaiyamma had an arranged marriage but Solaiyamma was still afraid of him after the marriage. One night, Mayandi came drunk in his house, molested the innocent Solaiyamma and brutally raped her. Since that night, Solaiyamma began to avoid Mayandi and she didn’t talk to him anymore. A few months later, Solaiyamma discovered that she was pregnant. Mayandi and Solaiyamma were unable to understand their feelings. Finally, Ponnuthayi (Srividya), Mayandi’s adopted mother, brought them back together. Unfortunately, Solaiyamma died after giving birth.

In between, Raja loves Senkamalam (Radha), sister of an employee in his estate. in the same village where Raja lives, there exists his lookalike, Chinnaraasu (Rajinikanth again), whose aim in life is to wed his sweetheart Lakshmi (Nadia). Raja escapes from jail, meets Chinnaraasu and makes Chinnaraasu take his place in jail. After many twist and turns, Raja brings the culprits to book. At the end, Raja marries Senkamalam and Chinnarasu marries Lakshmi.

A man loves his younger sister dearly and does everything to make her happy. When she elopes with her lover to Kolkata, he goes to great lengths to protect her from the clutches of an evil gangster.

Kandukondain Kandukondain opens with military personnel Major Bala (Mammootty) fighting in a war and losing his left leg in a grenade explosion. After the opening credits, Sowmya (Tabu) and Meenakshi “Meenu” (Aishwarya Rai) are shown as the adult daughters of Padma (Srividya) living in a Chettiar mansion in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu with their maternal grandfather Chandrasekhar (Unnikrishnan Namboothiri), maidservant Chellatha (S. N. Lakshmi) and younger sister Kamala (Shamili). Sowmya is a school principal while Meenu is passionate about classic Tamil poetry, music and dance. Major Bala, one of the rich men in their village falls in love with Meenu, but Meenu falls in love with Srikanth (Abbas). Manohar (Ajith Kumar) is a director who comes to Meenu’s house for a film shoot. Sowmya and Manohar fall for each other but an issue crops up between the two and whether Manohar manages to win her back forms the rest of their part of the story.
