Anjana Ali Khan announced that she was working on her second feature film in November 2014 and that the film would be a romantic comedy featuring actors Rahul Ravindran and Wasna Ahmed. The title is inspired by the 1975 Tamil film Pallandu Vazhga, with a play on words changing the title to include Palaandu (teeth) rather than Pallandu (long), to showcase the lead’s character’s occupation as a dentist. She worked on the script in Qatar, before moving to Chennai to begin the shoot. Chandini Tamilarasan stated that she was a part of the film and would be playing the role of an IT professional. Nani, who starred in Ali Khan’s debut film Veppam, shot for two days in Chennai for a cameo role.

Kartik, raised in the slums by his brother, is an engineering student. His father Jothi, who abandoned his family years ago, takes advantage of Kartik’s friend, Vishnu, for a drug peddling assignment.
