Shakthi (Bharath) becomes the managing director of Rajasekhar group of companies following his father’s death. Tulasi (Radha) is a village girl. One day, she gets a letter from her cousin Subramani (Mohan). On a day when they plan to meet, Noorjahan dies after she steps into quicksand. Subramani feels dejected after seeing Noorjahan’s death and decides to remain unmarried and that’s the real reason for him to avoid marrying Tulasi. But Tulasi decides to end her life as Subramani shows no interest in marrying her and she goes to the same place where Noorjahan died. Tulasi also falls into the same quicksand, but Subramani rushes and saves Tulasi. Subramani understands Tulasi’s true love towards him and marries her.

Raja, an introvert medical student falls in love with his fellow college mate, Geeta, but does not have courage to express his love to her. Chinni urges Geetha not to meet Raja then and promises after Raja recuperates, he will unite them. The film ends as Geetha looks at the departing train.

Chandru (Prashanth) works in a flower shop owned by Manivannan. He tries to woo girls and enter into a relationship, but it does not materialize. His friends (Charle and Vaiyapuri) tease him for being unable to find a girlfriend. Chandru has a plan to prevent them making fun of him. He requests his close friend Gayathri (Sujitha) to come to the temple along with some of her friends so he would introduce her as his girlfriend to his friends. Chandru takes his friends with him to temple with plans of introducing Gayatri’s friend as his lover. Unfortunately, Gayatri does not turn up that day, and Chandru simply points out a girl (Preeti Jhangiani) among the crowd in the temple as his lover to his friends. Chandru pretends as if he is talking frequently over phone to his lover so that his friends would believe him.

Following Akhilan’s advice, Kanmani’s cousin decides to marry Kanmani, but she rejects him. One day, Kanmani’s cousin kidnaps her, rapes her, and leaves her at Akhilan’s apartment. This shocks everyone in the family, especially Akhilan. He admits to Kanmani about his action, and also told that the raping plan was not his advice. The whole family forces Kanmani to marry her cousin. The next morning, Kanmani committed suicide and died. Akhilan and Anbarasi, with their infant, go back to her village. Anbarasi’s aunt hits Kanmani’s husband as she thinks it was because of him Kanmani died. Akhilan, standing right beside him, was guilty because it was he who planned all this to avoid Kanmani disturbing his married life.
