Nee Enna Maayam Seidhai tells the story of a man who raises several eyebrows when he begins dating a woman ten years elder to him.

A young carrom player in north Chennai becomes a reluctant participant in a war between two warring gangsters.

Dhinakar (Jai Akash), hailing from a middle-class family, and Nancy (Madhumitha), a software engineer and sole breadwinner for her family, are neighbors who are in love with each other. However, their dreams of getting married are shattered when their self-centered parents decide on proposals of their own choice. Notwithstanding the overbearing parental pressures, Nancy marries Victor (Prakash Raj), a multimillionaire businessman, while Dhinakar marries his cousin – but not before the lead pair enters into a sly pact. Dhinakar and Nancy contrive to marry the spouses chosen by their parents, only to officially dissolve their unhappy unions later and thereby pave way to their union. After a sequence of events, Nancy successfully convinces Victor about her unreserved enthusiasm for her past love, gets her divorce, and takes the first step towards making a fresh start, but events overtake her in an unexpected final act.

Now retired, Triton finds it hard to settle back into normal life. He is fired from his job as a security guard for using excessive force on an employee’s ex-boyfriend and his bodyguards. Triton’s wife Kate (Kelly Carlson) decides the two need a vacation to help Triton adjust to his new life. Meanwhile, criminal Rome (Robert Patrick) robs a jewelry store with his gang: girlfriend Angela (Abigail Bianca), Morgan (Anthony Ray Parker), Vescera (Damon Gibson), and Bennett (Manu Bennett). Rome is in collusion with an anonymous partner, with whom he is planning on sharing the profits from the diamonds. On the run, the gang stops at a gas station where Triton and Kate have stopped. When two policemen arrive to buy gas, Morgan shoots and kills one of the officers, causing Rome to shoot the other officer while Angela kills the gas station attendant. When Triton reacts to Kate being kidnapped, Bennett knocks him out. Triton regains consciousness and gives chase in the policemen’s car. The chase leads to a lake, where Triton falls out of the patrol car and into the lake, seemingly to his death.

The story revolves teen romance between students, which is dismissed as infatuation by their respective parents. Then, in a turn of events, the girl achieves her dream of becoming a doctor. The boy was a loser. They are meeting again after many years. The boy turned his failure into success without knowing that the same girl helped him to achieve in his career.

The film opens and ends with jail sequences. In both scenes, Pazhanivel (Bharath) is seen behind bars. The happenings from his release and his reentry to the jail make the whole film. Pazhanivel, who comes out of prison, puts his sister Karpagambal’s (Kushboo) life on track through his heroics and goes back to jail as a martyr. Pazhanivel was put behind bars when he was 10 years old. He killed his father’s (Yaar Kannan) “keep”, who made his mother’s (Rekha) life a hell by exploiting her to cajole his “keep”. He went to jail, and his father turned an aimless vagabond. Karpagambal, who disowned him when he was sent to jail, grew up and got married to businessman Jeevanandham (Biju Menon). Karpagambal is living in a fool’s paradise, believing the man, who is actually an antisocial element. However, she need not worry about anything. Pazhanivel, who is now 25 years old, has come out of jail. He gets a job in his sister’s house, unearths Jeevanandham’s shady deals, reforms him, and puts his sister’s life on track. Meanwhile, he finds his lady love Deepti (Kajal Aggarwal).

The friends slowly realize the magnitude of the situation and the stress that’s in store for them. They face harassment from the cops and have to somehow relieve themselves from the situation.
