In Ooty, Krishnamoorthy alias Kicha (Arjun) and Mani (Goundamani) perform a swashbuckling heist of money of several crores while being in disguise diverting the attention of police, and escape in Nilgiri Mountain Railway, much to the frustration of a chasing police officer Ratnam (Ajay Rathnam). Kicha is a respected citizen who runs a home-based pappadam business along with Mani in Chennai. Susheela (Madhoo), one of Kicha’s many female employees, has a crush on him and is constantly demanding his attention. Another thing adding to her woes is the arrival of her jovial cousin Sugandhi (Subhashri). She makes the place so lively and playful with silly fights between Mani and Babloo (Senthil). Sugandhi later develops a crush on Kicha, especially after being saved by him from some molesting goons. Kicha reveals to her that he has no such feelings for her and wants her to find a suitable mate. Before leaving Chennai, Sugandhi steals Kicha’s ring as a souvenir.

He “tricks” a woman on a railway station and flees with a trunk. This leads Shiva to Chinki, a little girl who was in the trunk instead of the wealth he thought was there. Chinki thinks that he is her father. Puzzled, he is forced to keep Chinki with him, as a police officer Vishal Sharma (Yashpal Sharma) keeps his eye on him.

The movie begins in a hospital where a mafia is involved in adulterating drugs. Unfortunately, a junior doctor Alamu (Meenakshi) manages to stumble upon their antisocial act. To safeguard themselves, the gang sets out to wipe out Alamu. She meets Perumal (Sundar C), a petty thief who does the job of recovering loans for an agency. He eventually vows to protect Alamu from her distress by putting an end to the gang and their atrocities.

Buoyed by the success of their maiden outing, they decide to become con artists. They are successful in various ventures and finally end up blackmailing a minister. The minister, after initially caving in to their threats, decides to settle scores. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Udhay Vasudev (Vinay Rai) is his only son, a spoilt kid who drives a Ferrari, spends lakhs everyday, and lives in one of the most sophisticated houses in Chennai. He is the sponsor for his constant companion Madhan (Yuva), who lives with him and local friend Kadukku (N. Santhanam) along with 12 bodyguards (headed by Alse Ram). Udhay meets LR Easwari (Kajal Aggarwal), a music student in Chennai in an accident and falls head on for her. He wants to mingle with her and blackmails her by saying that she has damaged his car and could work by his will to compensate the 10 lakh she owes him, and in a funny turn of events, he makes her his maid-servant. Soon, Madhan falls in love with Easwari, who has also fallen for Udhay.
