Saravana (Silambarasan) and Krishna (Krishna) are close buddies in college. Saravana sees a video tape of Krishna’s sister Sadhana (Jyothika) studying in London and falls in love with her. So to meet her, Saravana goes with Krishna to a village near Tirunelveli where he finds that there is a bloody war going on between two warring caste groups. Krishna’s brother Soundarapandi (Prakash Raj) his wife and Krishna are killed by the rival group of Dorai Singam. However Saravana saves Sadhana and takes her to Chennai. Initially Sadhana is not accepted by Saravana’s large family but slowly when they come to know about her background they support and love her. The rest of the film is how Saravana tries to help Sadhana to go back to London, and in the process eliminates the entire gang of Dorai Singam single-handedly.

The story revolves around a Tamil pop singer Inderjeet based in Bangalore who has a large female following. The movie opens with the death of a back-up dancer, Sandhya, in Inderjeet’s group. The story opens in the British India reign, where a British man and porter are trying to catch a ferry. On the way, however, one of the suitcases being carried by the porter falls and opens, revealing many diamonds. The porter steals some of the diamonds and sends the gentleman on his way. He hides these diamonds in a trunk, which he buries near a temple in the Gulaebaghavali village. The story then shifts to 2018, where Badri (Prabhu Deva) and his boss Nambi (Mansoor Ali Khan) perform petty thefts. While at a pub, Badri spots Viji (Hansika Motwani) and falls for her. Soon, Badri unknowingly accepts to steal a priceless statue from the temple at Gulaebagavali and runs into Viji. The duo escapes from the villagers. With some help from Munish (Ramdoss) and Maasha (Revathi), they steal the trunk, which reveals a skeleton. After a lot of confusion, the trunk is delivered, where it is revealed that the diamonds are stored in the skeleton. The police comes to the spot and finds that the diamonds were very valuable. After they escape from the police, it is revealed that during the fight, a hand of the skeleton fell in Maasha’s car. On finding this out and how Maasha tried to deceive the other three, the trio chases her. A parallel storyline involves Mayilvaganam (Sathyan) and a don Annachi (Rajendran), which culminates in the climax.

Vasu (Ajith Kumar) is a happy-go-lucky final-year college student who is forced to contest elections in the college after being persuaded by his friends Arun (Nithin Sathya) and Venkat Prabhu. He incurs the wrath of the local MLA Varadharajan (Charan Raj), whose son is studying in the same college and is also contesting the elections.
In the course of events, Varadharajan’s gang attacks Vasu and his friends. Vasu’s father Seenu (Vijayakumar), a tea shop owner, advises the students to take a plunge in politics and teach bad apples like Varadharajan a lesson. Taking cue from his words, Vasu does take the plunge in politics with the backing of college students and files a nomination for the assembly election in Kumbakonam constituency. Varadharajan is annoyed and angry at Vasu’s presumptuousness and tells him to back off from the elections. But Vasu goes ahead with his plans. The rest is a sequence of events by which Vasu wins the admiration of masses and succeeds in getting elected as MLA.

Meanwhile the pill that Frank took, Drix arrives in the body and covers Frank’s throat with ice to cover the irritation. Osmosis Jones becomes his newest partner.
