The film is about Shobha, young Tamil woman, who lives in Kolkata with her husband Sekhar, a reporter for a daily newspaper. She is grappling with unknown tensions in her four year long marriage which leads to her form a complex relationship with her new neighbour Manohar, a middle-aged reclusive Tamil man, who has a mysterious past of his own. Meanwhile, Sekhar, unknown to Shobha, is drawn to his fellow reporter, Divya, a forthright Bengali girl who is open about what she wants in life. Soon, in this quadrangular tangle of lives, secrets are revealed that make Shobha decide on making a change. Set in the fascinating city of Kolkata, the film tries to explore themes such as guilt, redemption and female sexuality in the context of an Indian marriage.

While he had thought she would be a traditional, homely girl, Gowri turns out to be an ultra-modern gal who even drinks. On the other hand, Kaveri(Uma), who Rammohan hires as his secretary at work, is the kind of woman he wished for as his wife. Meanwhile, Rammohan rubs Selvakumar(Arun Pandiyan), the new policeman in town, the wrong way and Selvakumar itches for a chance to get back at him. However, Maggie’s father is none other than the MindGames head’s brother, who is unwilling to let Vicky marry Maggie. After much persuasion from Vicky, Maggie’s father agrees to let Vicky marry Maggie on the condition that he should stay in his house for 4 days for Maggie’s sister’s wedding and if Vicky manages to win over at least 2 relatives of Maggie, he can marry her and he would get a business in India else he should forget Maggie and leave the contract. But Vicky changes the condition that if at least 1 relative of Maggie does not get convinced that Vicky is the correct match for Maggie then he would forget Maggie and leave the contract, else he would marry Maggie and does not leave the contract.Soon, the relatives begin pouring infrom India and among them, to Vicky’s shock, is Priya, who happens to be the groom’s cousin. During the 4 days, with the help of Priya, he manages to win over the entire family. It is clear that Vicky is going to win Maggie’s father’s challenge. Muthu (Karthik) is the favourite employee at Rojavanam, a home for the aged owned jointly by two friends (Ravikumar and “Nizhalgal” Ravi). Sindhu (Malavika) is a psychology student staying at the home.
