Rishi (Prabhas) is the son of Bhupathi (Krishnam Raju). Rishi is influenced by his father’s ideals and grows up just like him. Bhupathi does not want his son to take up violence and sends him to Bangalore for studies and to learn music. There, Rishi falls for an orphan Deepali (Deeksha Seth) and brings her to his house. During the festivals held in their village, Simhadri (Pradeep Rawat) sends thugs to kill Bhupathi and his family, but Rishi eliminates all the thugs. Bhupathi’s brother Jairam (Mukesh Rishi) joins hands with Simhadri so they can kill Bhupathi, Bhupathi’s wife Lakshmi (Rama Prabha), and Deepali. Simhadri tells Rishi that a local goon helped Jairam kill Bhupathi and his family. Simhadri soon kills himself. Some of Bhupathi’s bodyguards are still alive, including Raju (Supreeth). They assist Rishi to get revenge. Two years later, Rishi discovers that a goon named Stephen (K. C. Shankar) was doing illegal business in Hyderabad for a very long time.

The film begins with Arivazhagan (Shirish Saravanan) along with his friend locking up an unknown man and torturing him with a camera filming the whole incident. The movie then turns to a flash back, where Arivu narrates how happy he and his family was. Arivu who is a writer for a press and the eldest son of a retired Police Head-constable and his wife, has a brother named Madhi who is a 1st year Engineering student. Arivu’s Middle-class family life is however happy with his friend Kumar (Sendrayan) mingling as one of the family. Problem begins when Madhi who is pressured by his Girl friend to get an expensive bike, persuades his family to get him a bike. Though hesitant at first, they agree to get him a bike of his choice. However, delay in getting his bike and seeing his classmate Ganesh (Nishanth) spending casually makes him curious to know what he does for money. This is when he is introduced to the heinous crime of chain snatching. Ganesh introduces him to Guna (Bobby Simha) who is heading a gang of young college going chain snatches. Surya’s henchman Shakeel manages to kill a witness of Laalu’s crimes in the jail where he is kept in, winning Laalu’s friendship.

The film begins in a city in Andhra, where the CBI raid a rich local politician’s house. The Chief Officer is shown to be Aadhi (Jayam Ravi), who orders to seize all illegal items found. The politician is arrested, but he requests to come to the CBI office in his own car. It is later revealed that no CBI raid was planned on his house and all that happened was a hoax. The politician gets angry and orders to hunt down the men who cheated him in the name of CBI.

Jagannathan (Sarath Kumar), fondly known as Jaggubhai, is a tough, upright, straightforward Indian police officer with sharp methods. In Australia, he meets Ilavarasi (Srisha), and they fall in love with each other. Jaggubhai fails in his mission for which he came to Australia, and the brief romance with Ilavarasi ends abruptly. Jaggubhai returns to India as a dejected officer, failing in his official duty and personal life. Fate had something in store for him. 20 years later, or as he says it 21 years later, he gets a call from Australia stating Ilavarasi is dead and has left him a will. He reaches Australia and is shocked to know the brief encounter with Ilavarasi had resulted in a daughter Monisha (Shriya Saran), now a teenager.
