Kadhal Mudichu is a tribute to yesteryear actresses now forgotten by the media and the masses. In the film Akbar Ahmed (Prithviraj) is a highly successful director who wants base his next film on the life of yesteryear actress Malavika (Priyamani). While tracing her whereabouts he finds her diaries which show her whirlwind romance, marriage and consequent break up and its affect on her career. Akbars effors to find Malavika form the plot of the film.

While the accused has no one to represent him in Court, a Delhi-based Supreme Court lawyer, Ashok Mehta, agrees to represent him despite of threats from Siddharth, who is determined to kill him at any cost little knowing that his past will not only re-visit him, but a witness, Major Vishwanath, will come forward, ready to identify him as the killer of Advocate Jankiram.

Appu and Raja are twin brothers who were separated soon after their birth. Years later Appu, a dwarf, has become a circus clown and is loved by everyone while Raja is a car mechanic. When Appu’s love is rejected as he is a dwarf he tries to commit suicide. His mother comforts him and reveals to him that while she was pregnant with her twins their father Sethupathy was killed by four criminals Francis, Dharmaraj, Nallasivam and Satyamoorthy and also poisoned her which is the reason he turned a dwarf. Appu now decides to take revenge against the criminals but his lost twin brother Raja is framed for his crimes by mistake.
