Vasu (Jiiva) is a house broker who sells houses by using tricks with his friend Sooranam (Soori). He has a pet dog named Scooby. Vasu and his mother Parvathy (Raadhika) are living in her brother’s (Ilavarasu) house for rent. Vasu and his parents had lived in houses for rent throughout their lives. After Vasu’s father’s (Uday Mahesh) death, he took a vow of buying a bungalow on the outskirts. After some years, Vasu buys the bungalow and enters the house with his whole family. He later finds that there was a family that had lived there earlier. Jambulingam (Thambi Ramaiah) lived there with his wife (Devadarshini), mother, and daughters. He refused to move out of the house, so Vasu decides to live there until he finds the owner who cheated him. Vasu and Jambulingam’s daughter Shwetha (Sri Divya) fall in love with each other. Vasu and Sooranam try some ghost tricks to chase Jambulingam’s family out of the house

In the South Indian kingdom of Cholapuram Paalayam in the year 1771, Raja Mokkaiyappar and his queen, Rajamatha Bhavani Ammaiyar are desperate for a child, as all their previous twenty-two children have died at birth. Unknown to them, Bhavani’s brother, Sangilimayan, who is also the Rajaguru (High priest), is responsible for the death of their children. Sangilimayan is shocked to see that his sister has given birth to twins. Before informing the king about the birth, he calls the palace astrologer, Chinnavadayaan, who predicts that the elder twin will be incapable of making decisions on his own while the younger one will be smarter. Sangilimayan orders the palace doctor, Kailasakaruppan, to kill the younger one, but Chinnavadayaan tells Sangilimayan that his actions would not be good for the kingdom. Instead, Sangilimayan orders the palace doctor to abandon the child in a nearby river. The elder child is named Pulikecei XXIII. Maragathavalli, Kailasakaruppan’s childless wife, rescues the abandoned child from the river, and the couple decides to raise him as their own, naming him Ukraputhan.

Rasu (Santhanam) and Mokkai (Ganja Karuppu) are youngsters sharing a hostel with a diverse group of people. Those people include Professor Mani (Madhan Bob), a staunch atheist Thanjai Rudran (Rajesh), a poet, and other unemployed, struggling men. Rasu, who works in a coffee shop, is in love with Mahishasuramardhini (Madhumitha), but she seemingly ignores all his advances. Rasu was even attacked by her brother after hanging around her house for extended periods of time. Mokkai, who is unemployed due to his lack of education, and does whatever job he can find, dreams of marrying his uncle’s daughter back in his village. After a particularly bad day where Mokkai is arrested and beaten by female police officers and Rasu’s lies of being in a well-paid job are uncovered (to Mahishasuramardhini’s disgust), the two are also kicked out of the hostel by the owner due to the inability to pay rent. On their last night, both vent their frustration at Kadavul (God) after heavy drinking. Both are shocked when Kadavul (Prakashraj) appears in front of them. Mistaking him for another unemployed fellow, the two head back to their hostel room only to find Kadavul waiting for them in it, waving aside this miracle, all three fall asleep. The next morning, Kadavul finally manages to convince Rasu and Mokkai of his true identity after appearing in the forms of Vishnu, Jesus and Buddha.

Preethi calls Capri and warns her not to disturb her family. The next day their daughter goes missing. Capri takes Abi to a park. Preethi gets hit by a car during the search.Rajesh gets violent and tries to kill her. He seeks the help of police to save him from this issue . After a day, Assistant commissioner warns him to be safe as Capri goes missing. She comes in search of Preethi and tries to kill her. Rajesh fights with Capri meanwhile Preethi shoots Capri to save Rajesh. The court releases preethi as she had shot Capri for self-defense. The movie ends on a happy note.

Puthuvai Managaram is a story of two siblings who rescue victims of road accidents. Mammootty plays the role of Giri and Nadia his twin sister Gowri.

The film starts in a courtroom where a woman Janaki (Meena) is fighting for divorce from her husband Pandian (Kamal Haasan). She offers various reasons for wanting a divorce. She has married Pandian against the wishes of her rich father Vishwanathan Iyer (Gemini Ganesan). But she isn’t able to come to terms with living in Pandian’s small house without amenities. Pandian is an assistant dance director with a modest income and is not able to spend much time with the family. All this accumulates and Janaki decides to apply for divorce, which is granted. The court orders that Pandian can meet his daughter Barathi, once a week and this is his only solace. His daughter, however, loves him a lot and doesn’t like the arrangement. Basha (Nassar), Pandian’s Muslim friend who works in a hotel as a chef, advises him to steal his daughter from Janaki. Pandian goes about trying to do as his friend suggests. In doing so, he is discovered; and now he cannot meet her at all. Then Pandian finds out that Vishwanathan Iyer has advertised for a woman to look after his granddaughter. Joseph (Nagesh) is a makeup man in films. In conversation with him, Pandian gets the idea of playing an old woman, so that he can be with his child and ex-wife without knowing them. Joseph agrees to this plan and the transformation is done from Pandian to “Avvai Shanmugi”– (also Kamal Haasan) a dignified, elderly Iyer woman, who is hired to take care of the little girl.

Maalya accepts the position, Vidyapati accepts the invitation but humiliates her even more and she has him imprisoned. Little do these three know that their live have seen improvements mainly due to Sage Narad’s mischievous prompting of Devi Maas’ Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati, in a bid to find out who is more powerful of these three. These three mortals must now enter into a conflict and each must do their best to prove whether Knowledge (Saraswati), Wealth (Lakshmi), or Strength (Parvati) reigns supreme.
