The Chennai Sharks team, years after their happy go-lucky days, re-unite to celebrate the marriage of one of their own. In the events leading to the marriage, they end up enrolling for a cricket tournament which puts an ugly twist to the planned wedding. To get their friend’s life back on track, Irony has the final say – They have to play another tournament to get a chance to make amends. Do they ‘still’ have it in them?!

Bhoopathy (Vijay) is a happy-go-lucky person who is very relaxed in life, as shown when he falls asleep in a train and misses his station. He goes to Villivakkam in search of Vishwanathan (Nassar), who is his father Mani’s (Manivannan) best friend. Kattabomman (Vadivelu) is Vishwanathan’s assistant who torments Bhoopathy right from the day they meet. Vishwanathan’s first daughter Priya (Sneha) initially hates Bhoopathy, and they are at constant loggerheads at each other. When Priya’s aunt (Suhasini Maniratnam) is going to leave, they again fight and the same old revenge story takes place. Soon, however, Priya falls for Bhoopathy. When Bhoopathy comes to know about this, he is reminded of his father’s words that he should not make him ask forgiveness to his friend under any circumstances. Although Bhoopathy also likes Priya, he controls his emotions and keeps silent. He tries to leave but is caught by Vishwanathan and is forced to come back. Priya receives a call from her friend to come to her wedding. On the insistence of Priya’s younger sister, Vishwanathan sends Bhoopathy along with them. There the groom Sriman (Sriman) makes him drunk and he reveals his feelings about Priya. They become friends soon. Then they all go to Black Thunder and a photographer (Pandiarajan) they meet takes a photo of Bhoopathy and Priya holding hands.

A corrupt, maverick police officer takes on a bandit chief to recover a hoard of treasure which has been missing for years.

Madhavan (Elango Nagarajah), a young man, lives with his joint family : parents (Manobala and Fathima Babu), brother (Sriman) and sister-in-law (Yuvarani). His family has a feud with their opposite house family (M. S. Bhaskar, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam, Meera Krishnan and Devadarshini). Pambukutty’s daughter Deepika (Anjana Keerthi) was into a boarding school in Ooty for 10 years, where she completes her education and comes back to her native. Deepika’s family decide to get her married off while Keeripulla also wants his son to get married. Soon, Madhavan and Deepika fall in love with each other. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

Vijay (Arjun) is a hitman who works for Sundaramoorthy (Radha Ravi). He kills anybody for a price, other than women and children and he lives alone in an apartment. Pooja (Pooja), a young girl, studies in a boarding school and comes to her father’s house for the holiday. Between her abusive father, selfish stepmother and an arrogant step-aunt, Pooja feels rather badly but she treasures her lovely little brother Dinesh (Mahanadi Dinesh). Pooja tries to befriend Vijay but Vijay is not interested. Her father is a drug smuggler. One day, a corrupt police officer Jayanth (Raghuvaran) kills Pooja’s family including her brother. Vijay decides to accommodate Pooja and Pooja compels him to teach her his skills as a hitman. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Balakrishnan (Pasupathy) is the owner of a barber shop in a remote village. His family consists of his wife Sridevi (Meena) and three children. Balakrishnan struggles to persuade customers to visit his barber shop while his competitor Shanmugham (Vadivelu), a former worker of Balakrishnan who has his own barber shop across from Balakrishnan’s, uses cunning means to make business in haircutting. Balakrishnan’s downfall in business causes him to neglect paying his children’s school fees. Although he struggles to make a living, he still enjoys spending time with his family.

Krishna (Jayam Ravi) is a happy-go-lucky youth who excels in every field but always does strange and dangerous things to obtain a certain “kick” – a thrill or excitement that he craves. One such activity is secretly double-crossing his childhood friend Dass (Sathyan) while helping him elope. At this point, he meets Nisha (Tamannaah), who is shocked at his recklessness and writes him off as crazy. Krishna sets his sights on Nisha and woos her in a very unorthodox way; he begs her not to fall in love with him. After a host of comical situations involving Krishna’s caring but easygoing parents (Prabhu and Suhasini), local thugs (John Vijay and Mayilsamy), and an ever-present comic relief Jackson (Vadivelu), Nisha accepts Krishna’s love. However, she sets a condition: Krishna must stay in a well-paying job (he had resigned from other jobs due to lack of “kick”), and only then will she agree to marry him. Krishna accepts but soon resigns again for the same reason and tries to hide it from Nisha. When Nisha finds out, she breaks up with him and leaves him for good.
