Thirupathi’s sister is pregnant, and at the time of delivery, he takes her to a hospital. The doctor there expects bribe, but when it is not forthcoming, he neglects his duty; therefore, Thirupathi’s sister dies. Thirupathi comes to know that this is not the first instance in the hospital, and the doctor is his best friend Soori’s (Riyaz Khan) brother (Sampath Raj). When Thirupathi goes out to get Soori’s brother, Soori and his father do all that they can to protect him from Thirupathi. How Thirupathi gets his revenge on the people responsible for his sister’s death forms the rest of the movie.

Manigandan is a server in a hotel who is a devotee of Lord Ayyappan (the bachelor god). He follows a fasting for Ayyappan and is very sincere and honest. One day a businessman, named Dharmaraj, visits the hotel where Manigandan works. He admires Mani’s sincerity and offers him the General Manager job in his factory at Ooty. Dharmaraj takes Mani to his factory and office to introduce him to his employees who do not do any work but play games, sit idle, watch TV etc. Innocent Mani does not understand why employees does not work but gets scared that he must manage all of them, a task which was impossible for 419 managers before him.
Mani sees a girl who breaks everything she sees, and yet Dharmaraj pays for everything she broke. He finds out that she is Vennila, daughter of Dharmaraj who is a spoilt young lady who cannot be controlled even by her father. Mani and Vennila fight frequently. Vennila makes every attempt to get rid of him, but a spark develops between them.

Ponrasu, the village chief, refuses for the wedding, so Singarasu decides to accommodate the lovers in his house and promises to unite them, but later the young lovers commit suicide. So Marimuthu and Ponrasu decide to take revenge on Singarasu. Singarasu, busy in his duty, neglects his wife and is unable to understand her feelings. One day, Marimuthu tells lies about Singarasu to Pandiyamma, and she commits suicide. All the villagers think Singarasu is the killer. Palaniyamma decides to live with Singarasu and he develops a soft corner for her. When Singarasu decides to marry Palaniyamma, a woman explains to him what happened before his late wife’s suicide. Pandiyamma was in fact killed by Ponrasu and Marimuthu. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

There are two friends Ramarajan (Mirchi Shiva) and Rajkiran (Santhanam), who for reasons unknown prefer to call themselves Dhoni and Sehwag. They have nothing better to do than hang around together boozing and teasing pretty girls. Dhoni does not believe in the idea of working, but is still in search of a government job, knowing very well that he is not likely to get it. Kanaka (Sandhya), a police constable, is the daughter of Dhoni’s maternal uncle, and though their families want them to marry neither is interested. Meanwhile, Dhoni, while going for an interview meets and falls in love with Seetha (Dhansika). So impressed is he by her that when he meets the ugly-looking, buck-toothed local councillor Aishwarya (Devadarshini), who has promised him a job, he hugs her and declares his undying love for her, believing her to be Seetha. Though he apologizes to her, the much older Devadarshini is now very much in love with Dhoni and is determined to marry him. She gives money to Sehwag so that he separates the love of Dhoni and Seetha. Sehwag arranges friends of Dhoni’s sister to pose as his lover to separate him. Seetha believes this rumor and breakup with him. Dhoni blames Seetha as “accused no1” who cheated him. Then Dhoni comes to know that it was the plan of Sehwag to separate him, he breaks his friendship with him. Aishwarya’s fat brothers records the speech of Sehwag scolding Aishwarya in an inebriated state. In the early morning, Dhoni attends the marriage of Kanaka. Dhoni is shocked that Sehwag is the marriage groom. Seetha still mistakes Dhoni as a womaniser when she sees the same girl coming out misunderstanding. Girl tells all the truth to Dhoni about the plan which was overheard by Seetha. Aishwarya tries to kidnap Seetha but instead she gets kidnapped by Beerpal (Srinivasan) who mistaking her to be Seetha in order to take revenge on her for rejecting his love. After the marriage, Dhoni scolds Seetha alone himself for loving him then Seetha arrives at that place and again misunderstands him, she urges him to commit suicide. Varadharajan is searching for Dhoni who disappeared from home. Seetha is feeling guilty for his disappearance and also thinks that he might have committed suicide. Dhoni arrives at their home saying he disappeared from home to conduct the marriage of Aishwarya and Beerpal. The film ends with Dhoni and Sehwag uniting with their lovers happily.
