Gautamiputra Satakarni (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is 2nd century AD Satavahana ruler of Amaravati who has a dream from his childhood that to unite all the 32 kingdoms in the country under one roof, to stop internal collisions between the rulers to establish peace. He takes oath on his mother Gautami Balashri (Hema Malini) and starts his mission at the age of 18 and he gives only two options to the kings on his way either peace by surrendering their sword to him or war. It takes 18 long years to achieve his goal and takes entire South India under his control. Time being Satakarni marries Vashishthi Devi (Shriya Saran) and they have a son Pulumavi (Master Snehit Chowdary).

Saravana (Silambarasan) and Krishna (Krishna) are close buddies in college. Saravana sees a video tape of Krishna’s sister Sadhana (Jyothika) studying in London and falls in love with her. Initially Sadhana is not accepted by Saravana’s large family but slowly when they come to know about her background they support and love her. The rest of the film is how Saravana tries to help Sadhana to go back to London, and in the process eliminates the entire gang of Dorai Singam single-handedly.

Arun Kumar (Vishnu Vishal) is an aspiring filmmaker who wants to make a movie on psychopaths. After being rejected many times and due to pressure from his family, he decides to give up his dreams and become a sub-inspector with the help of his brother-in-law Doss (Ramdoss), a police officer himself. He moves to Chennai to stay with his sister Kokila (Vinodhini Vaidyanathan), Doss, and their daughter Ammu (Abhirami). Ammu gets into trouble when she makes Arun sign like her father in her report card. Her class teacher figures this out and thinks she signed it herself. He meets and befriends Ammu’s teacher Viji (Amala Paul) and her niece Kayal (Baby Monica).

The film begins in a city in Andhra, where the CBI raid a rich local politician’s house. The Chief Officer is shown to be Aadhi (Jayam Ravi), who orders to seize all illegal items found. The politician is arrested, but he requests to come to the CBI office in his own car. It is later revealed that no CBI raid was planned on his house and all that happened was a hoax. The politician gets angry and orders to hunt down the men who cheated him in the name of CBI.
