Gopikrishna (Murali) owns an old bus which was received as compensation for his father’s road accident. Gopi is now facing lots of consequences due to the bus’s pathetic condition. He had sold many valuable things to maintain this bus, and his friend Azhagu (Vadivelu) was his only companion and the bus’s cleaner. A mouse had eaten Azhagu’s passport and spoiled his chances of going abroad. Some part of the film’s comedy involves Azhagu running behind the mouse for revenge. A live TV show in which Gopi insults the City Traffic Commissioner (Vinu Chakravarthy) lands him in more trouble when the latter commands Gopi to leave the city with the bus. His other friends, advocates, and well-wishers try to help him with a bank loan to run a mobile kitchen (Tattukada) from his bus. The plot took a turn when a girl named Vasanthi (Radha) enters the bus as a nomad, but she was actually Gayathri, the daughter of an influential and politically powerful minister (P. Vasu) in Puducherry.

The movie opens to a prologue, where King Parasbaram (Radha Ravi), ruler of a small rival kingdom and the nine ministers of the great Empire of Vikata Nagaram are on their way to a Chinese consulate’s mansion. They are warmly welcomed by General Wang (Wilson Ng) and courtesan Hong (Vivienne Tseng) once they reach there. The Chinese consulate, headed by Chao Gong Gong (Nickson Cheng), wishes to engage in trade with the people of the Kingdom of Vikata Nagaram and reap the benefits. Thus, the ministers strike a deal with Parasbaram and the Chinese to help them after being promed a huge share of the benefits. The Foreign Affairs Minister of Vikata Nagaram, Nandivarma Rayar (Joe Malloori) objects to this, saying that he doesn’t want to betray the King and his people for money. Chao Gong Gong then orders courtesan Hong to kill him with a poisoned needle from her hair.

When the dragons perished, the treasure they owned was left deep in the desert. Every ten years, the entrance to the dragons’ treasure house would appear in the open in the desert, attracting a group of people with unique skills called desert hunters. The movie begins with two kids who fight with each other in a marriage hall. They meet after two decades, now Krishna (Prasanna) and Ramya (Laila) during a college cultural meet and again lock horns with each other. Fate brings them together in Chennai after a few years, again fighting with each other. Meanwhile, a series of events forces Krishna’s close friend Aravindh (Karthik Kumar) to come to India from the USA to get married. His parents arrange his wedding with Ramya. Ramya, who decides to get married to help her younger sister’s love, displays herself as a passive character who accepts whatever the life partner feel is right. On the contrary, she is bold, active, independent and assertive in nature. Knowing this, Krishna tries hard to let her true character come out. However, Aravindh stalls the wedding plans and returns to the USA as he finds Ramya as a person who does not think on her own and not independent. Mistaking Krishna for influencing Aravindh, Ramya locks horns with him.
