Kaalaiyan (Sundar C) is a simple person and the best Jallikattu (Bullfight) player in his village. His world revolves around his four younger brothers.

Things take a turn as dramatic events unfold after a crime was committed in a village and as the culprit is sought after.

A man, who lost his Muslim friend as he was in a relationship with a Brahmin woman, is hesitant about love. However, a woman falls for him and tries to help him overcome his past.

Auto-rickshaw driver Manickam (Rajnikant) is a do-gooder who avoids violence at all costs. Manickam romances rich kid Nagma, whose father is a criminal, and knows a dirty secret about his would-be son-in-law. Manickam’s brother, a righteous police officer gets into trouble with the local goons, triggering a set of events that revive Manickam’s old self.

Joker is a political satire which criticises the present political absurdities. Mannar Mannan (Protagonist), a rural villager, who self declares himself as President of India, always protests Government for all the absurdities happening around his village. Most of the time he is seen as a Joker. He’s trailed at court for his various continuous acts. There comes his past, where he loves a beautiful girl from his near by village. The girl is willing to marry him only if he could build a toilet at his home. Government announces a toilet scheme through which all the villagers will get toilet at their homes throughout India. President plans to visit a village and he chose protagonist’s village. What happens when the President comes? is toilet built at their home? did they get married? answers protagonist’s act of declaring himself as President. At the end, the audiences are questioned for their involvement in opposing absurdities (who’s the real Jokers)!

Vinara Sodara Veera Kumara is an unusual story of love and realization. Ramana (Srinivas Sai) falls in love with Sulochana (Priyanka Jain) but their relationship fails to materialize due to which he decides to end his life. He then meets a soul that communicates with him to make him realize the importance of life over love. The film has elements of fantasy, comedy and romance sprinkled all over.

Palakattu Madhavan (Vivek) is a lazy, irresponsible man. Embarrassed his wife Lakshmi (Sonia Agarwal) earns more than him, he quits his job out of spite. He then adopts the old woman Pattu Maami (Sheela) as a surrogate mother because she offers to pay cash for the opportunity. The character “Palakkattu Madhavan” is also an acknowledgement of a character with the same name in the movie Antha Ezhu Naatkal starring Bhagyaraj and Ambika.

The movie begins with Kadhir (Ravi in Telugu version) (Ravi Krishna) on his way to work. People stare at him and laugh behind his back as he travels to his office. He appears distracted throughout the day and even instructs his assistant to postpone an important meeting with a big client. He then waits for someone at the Beach with a bouquet of flowers. His best friend, Lakshmi (Suman Shetty) sees him and asks him whom he is waiting for. Kadhir explains he is waiting to meet his girlfriend, Anita (Sonia Agarwal) for their date. In flashbacks, we are shown how Kadhir first met Anita.
Kadhir belongs to a lower middle class family, living with his parents and younger sister in Rainbow Colony in Chennai (Telugu version as Brundavan Colony in Hyderabad). He is perceived as a good for nothing person as he skips classes, fails in exams, and gets involved in fights. Kadhir believes that his father (Vijayan) (Chandra Mohan in Telugu version) hates him and often quarrels with him, even threatening to leave the house, only to be persuaded not to do so by his mother (Sudha). Kadhir’s life changes when a once well lived family moves into the same colony due to loss in business. Kadhir is attracted to the daughter to his new neighbour, Anita. Although he tries to woo her, Anita treats him with disdain. One day, Kadhir confesses to Anita that he loves her. He tells her that having always been ridiculed, he found respite in the fact that she at least bothered to look at him. He promises to wipe her thoughts out of his mind, as he is not right for her.

Few situations lead Rana to clash with Rambabu. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
