A man loves his younger sister dearly and does everything to make her happy. When she elopes with her lover to Kolkata, he goes to great lengths to protect her from the clutches of an evil gangster.

The film begins with the young man Sudaleeswaran aka Eesa (Vignesh) killing a salt pan owner in a remote village in Thoothukudi. Eesa lives in a small hut with his wife Selvi (Lakshana). He then continues to kill a couple of salt pan owners and bumps them off in his hut. Thanga Malai Annachi (Thoothukudi M. Rajendran) is the local bigwig and the owner of a salt pan in which Eesa works. Upset to see his partners and friends killed by a mysterious person, Annachi starts to kill all his enemies. He then finds out that the killer is Eesa, so he sends the police to catch him. The police discovers multiples corpses in Easa’s hut, including Selvi’s. It is revealed that Eesa lives in a world of his own and believes that Selvi, who was killed a few months back, is still alive. He keeps her body in his hut and kills the murderers. A few months back, Eesa, who spent most of the time with his friend Kadukkai (Singampuli), fell in love with Selvi. Selvi accepted his love, and they got married. She later became pregnant. One day, Selvi saw Annachi and his gang brutally murdering a government official and his wife. Selvi questioned them, resulting in her brutal murder. Eesa, who was working in the salt pan, heard a cry of pain and discovered his wife in blood. Eesa tried to save her, but she died in his arms. The rest of the story is how Eesa killed Annachi.

The discovery of a mysterious fossil sets the stage for a terrifying confrontation between modern day man and Thai folklore. A tunnel excavation has revealed a rock so dense that it cannot be penetrated by even the strongest drill. The film is set in a village near Madurai. Pugazhendi (RK) spends all his time drinking and is ridiculed by everyone. In contrast, his elder brother Pandithurai (Napoleon) is respected and admired by everyone. Pandithurai showers love and affection on Pugazh. He even tries to arrange for his wedding hoping =he would reform. But knowing about Pugazh and his habits, nobody comes forward to give their daughter to him. Pugazh, who spends all his time with his maternal uncle Kaththamuthu (Vadivelu), comes across Janani (Muktha). It’s love at first sight for him. Meanwhile, the family of Rathnavelu (Lal), another powerful man in the village, is hellbent on revenging Pandithurai and his family due to previous enmity. They hatch a conspiracy and try to halt Pughazh and Janani’s wedding. Cut to flashback and the reason for ill-feeling between two families is revealed. It is now up to Pugazh to bump off Rathnavelu and restore peace in his family.

While tracing her whereabouts he finds her diaries which show her whirlwind romance, marriage and consequent break up and its affect on her career.
