A Crane operator doubles up as the leader of illegal trades happening in the harbour. What happens when he clashes with a fellow gangster, Gokul?

Kaththi Sandai is the story of a farmer who becomes a Robin Hood style thief for the welfare of his village. He steals from the people who deny his village of its basic needs and uses the money for its development.

For generations, Gowtham Ramalingam (Atharvaa) and his family have close links with the media. His father Ramalingam (Aadukalam Naren) is a news presenter with Doordarshan. His grandfather was a news reader in All India Radio. Following their footsteps, Gowtham becomes a TV journalist in a small channel, despite being an engineering graduate. He falls in love with his colleague Anu (Catherine Tresa) at first sight. Anu reciprocates, and romance ensues. While things are going well romantically, Gowtham gets arrested on charges of cheating banks to the tune of several lakhs of rupees by producing fake documents and degree certificates. Gowtham realises he has been made pawn in a huge scandal. The rest of the movie is all about how he unearths the fake certificate scam and pins down the mastermind Thura Sarkar (Tarun Arora).
