Raghava has Nyctophobia. Raghava, who loves Nandhini, is a cinematographer for a TV channel and wants to shoot a fake haunted house, in order to increase TRP ratings. To their misfortune, they are haunted, not by one but by five ghosts.

The story is about Raaj (Sumanth), a fashion photographer who is caught in between his wife Mythili (Priyamani) and his ex-lover Priya (Vimala Raman). Raaj chose not to tell Mythili about Priya and finds it difficult to adjust with his wife during the early days of marriage. However, their relationship improves with time, and they finally get close. Just when things look to settle down, Priya comes back into Raaj’s life unexpectedly. He’s very curious about why Priya left him abruptly in the past. Priya is later kidnapped by her scorned lover (Ajay). Raaj saves her from his clutches subsequently. In an unexpected twist, it is revealed that Mythili and Priya were actually classmates in school. Raaj later uncovers Priya’s ulterior motive, tells Mythili the truth, and reconciles with his wife.[2]

Arumugam (Bharath) is a good Samaritan who makes a living selling Idli’s on roadside platform shop along with his father (Ilavarasu), sister (Saranya Mohan) and sidekick (Karnas). Arumugam is in love with his childhood sweetheart Yamini (Priyamani) His best friend is the rich kid Karthik (Satya) whose sister is an arrogant tycoon Malini (Ramya Krishnan). She and her uncle (Mahadevan) hates Karthik’s deep bonding with Arumugam, who she finds to be below her stature. Malini, through her machinations is able to separate the friends and bring Arumugam to the streets. Our hero after his mother’s (Seetha) grave is bulldozed and his sister humiliated, vows to bring Malini to the streets. And like you have seen in hundreds of earlier films the hero due to his hard work and smart moves becomes the richest man in the town and takes his revenge.

Madhu (Githan Ramesh) always roams on a bike. Mercy (Priyamani) and Esther (Jahnavi) are friends and hostel mates. Mercy believes in Jesus and is very kind and humble towards others. Esther is bold, glamorous in dressing, and teases everyone. One day, when Esther teases Madhu, he kisses her publicly. Madhu falls in love with Mercy at first sight when she rescued a puppy from raining. Madhu often gets the chance to meet Mercy. He comes to the hostel and expresses his love to Mercy, but she denies his love. After examination, Mercy goes to her hometown Mahi. Madhu follows her. Her father Siluvai (Ashish Vidyarthi) owes to bring up his daughter to a good position. Madhu becomes Siluvai’s favorite. Esther enters the scene with lots of change in her character. Siluvai comes to know about their love affair, and his decision forms the rest of the story. In the end, Madhu and Mercy die by falling down from a hill.

John Vaseegaran is a young man who ranks fifth richest millionaire in India and 30th on the international level. The plot opens in a graveyard where Vaseegran’s parents’ funeral takes place. He is not disturbed by the demise of his parents as he had not been showered with any affection by them instead concentrated only on making money. A lady of his community expresses her condolence to him and leaves. While getting into her car she finds her diamond ring is missing and screams; the lost ring is in Vaseegaran’s pocket.
Vasee inherits the huge property of his parents and becomes the chairman of 32 companies in his twenties. Though rich he seeks true motherhood affection. He imagines his dream girl and names her Cinderella. He is a Kleptomaniac. He consults his family doctor for a solution. The doctor instructs him to get into love.

The story is set in a rural area around Madurai, in the village called Paruthiyur, which still practices caste segregation as a result of the controversial Criminal Tribes Act imposed by the British colonists, where members of impoverished communities are stereotyped as generational criminals.
Paruthiveeran (Karthi) is a country brash whose inter-caste parents were ostracized by the villagers since his higher caste father married his lower caste mother. After his parents’ death, Paruthiveeran was mostly raised by his doting paternal uncle Chevvaazhai (Saravanan) who pampers and accompanies him in every misbehavior to keep him happy. Having grown up among his mother’s people, he is often arrested for petty crimes. His one ambition in life is to gain enough notoriety to be on TV news and to be thrown into Madras Jail. He often bullies Paruthiyur villagers for money and fun.

The story takes it off showing the conjoined twins Charu and Latha (both played by Priyamani). Charu and Latha lived in Vizag as one body and soul until Ravi (Skanda Ashok) comes into their lives. Ravi falls in love with one of the twins which creates differences between the two. Finally, their mother (Saranya) plans to separate their attached bodies through surgery and during which Latha dies. However, mysterious incidents take place as the dead twin seeks revenge on the other. Several twists take place in line as the story unfolds. She also sees the dead twin playing the violin they used to play in the past and the twin starts to come forward to reach her and disappears as Ravi touches Charu. Later, in the hospital, Ravi visits the twins’ mother (Saranya) where she tries to tell Ravi something but is unable to do so. As the problems began to go down, Ravi again visits the twins’ mother and she tells him something at the graveyard. Ravi goes to the cemetery, only to find that the real person who died was Charu and that Latha was impersonating Charu. Flashbacks reveal that after falling in love with Charu, Ravi comes to visit Charu finally as he was leaving town which makes Latha angry. Latha refuses to follow Charu to the balcony to see Ravi for the last time. Ravi leaves after giving a paper to the guard containing a picture of Charu, delighting Charu but leaves Latha outraged. Latha tears the picture angrily and this creates problem between the twins. Latha fights with Charu on the stairs and both of them fall from the stairs. In this, Charu dies and Latha calls her mother to help. After this, both of them are separated. In reality, after fighting with Ravi, she ties him up in chair and tells him the truth that she also loved him. Later, Charu burns the place to make Ravi escape and Latha stays inside there, refusing to leave unless Ravi tells that he, too, loves her. Latha’s mother scolds and begs Ravi to save her only daughter. Ravi sacrifices his love to save Latha. The film ends with Ravi and Latha keeping flowers for Charu and Ravi sees Charu’s soul smiling at him as Latha walks towards him.

Shanmugham (Jeevan) comes to Chennai with his mother in search of his father (Raj Kapoor). When they get to the place, they see him living with another wife. In a hussle, he kills this old wife and sends this boy outside to beg. He comes out with dead mother and an auto driver (Chandrasekar) helps with all he has to cremate the body and gives some money and asks him to go back to his own city. Shanmugham wanted to read and become a great man. But he gets caught with the corrupt police guys and was used for their jobs (which involved murder). So when he grows up, he becomes a big rowdy by the name of Thotta (bullet). The highly corrupt police officer DCP Murugavel (Sampath Kumar) also uses him for a lot of encounters for which he takes credit and gets promoted to commissioner level. In one incident where he is asked to put acid on a girl Nalina’s (Priyamani) face, he finds that girl to be the auto driver’s daughter itself in her house. He helps that family, which is in poverty, with lot of gifts and also loves her. Nalina’s aim is to become a police officer and she tells this to Shanmugham. As he has commissioner influence, he promises to get her the job. For this he kills a minister who is a big rival of the chief minister (Livingston) at the instance of Murugavel. But when Nalina goes to Murugavel for the job, the latter insists that she have sex with him. When Shanmugham finds out what happened, he and Murugavel part ways. Shanmugham has a friend Giri, who is also a rowdy, but gets him married to a nice girl Gauri (Mallika). She wants to separate him from this rowdy group and get settled, for which she tries not to send him for their encounters. After much thought, Shanmugham lets them go separately. But Murugavel kills Giri in an encounter. Prabhakar (Saranraj), a CBI officer, wants to get Shanmugham alive, whereas Murugavel wants him killed, otherwise he would be in deep trouble as he was the one who made Shanmugham a rowdy after all. Anbu (Vishal) is a happy-go-lucky engineering student who lives with his family in Pattukottai and has fun with his friends. One day, he gets into a fracas with a local politician (Dhandapani) and his comic henchmen while trying to save a friend, and is arrested and has a case registered against him. The local court gives him conditional bail, provided that he signs the register in a Trichy police station. On the way to the police station, he sees a girl on a terrace (Motta Madi) drying clothes and falls for her. It is love at first sight for Anbu as he becomes crazy about Malar (Priyamani), a college girl, which leads to some hilarious situations. The police station, where he has to sign daily, is manned by his uncle Kandasamy (Ashish Vidyarthi), a comic inspector whose ex-lover Kamala (Urvasi) is the constable at the station. Anbu kindles his uncle’s love life and makes merry at Malar’s college, leading to funny situations. Meanwhile, Trichy is run by a powerful politician Palani (Devaraj) and his brother Guna (Ajay), who have killed the local RDO in cold blood, watched by a huge crowd of onlookers. The brothers continue with their ‘dadagiri’ until they clash with Anbu. The reason is that while trying to save Malar from a situation with Palani, Anbu ends up getting the wrath of the brothers. Although Malar’s mother wants to move away from the city, Anbu and his aunt convince her to stay and make Anbu Malar’s protector. He accompanies her and protects her from danger. After seeing his care, Malar slowly falls for Anbu and sees his true love for her. Palani causes problems for Anbu, but Anbu overcomes them and gets Palani killed by Kandasamy. Malar graduates and marries Anbu, and the story ends.

Shiva (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is an energetic, enthusiastic college student. Being short-tempered, he gets easily provoked by the rich, proud Vasu (Karthik Kumar) and his sneering attitude. From glares and snarls to punches and fights, Vasu and Shiva do it all, even for unreasonable, petty things. Shakthi (Shakthi Vasudevan) stops their quarrels before they injure each other very badly. As he is friendly, kindhearted and cool-headed, Shakthi tries to bring Shiva and Vasu together on friendly terms, but in vain. Shiva, Shakthi, and their faithful friend Bala (Vishnu Priyan) stay together through thick and thin, and are always ready to voice out their views on behalf of the hostelites in the college. Shakthi’s father (Bhagyaraj) often visits his son in the hostel and is like a father to all of Shakthi’s friends. Meera (Priyamani), the daughter of an MLA, nurtures a soft corner for Shiva. She is brave enough to stand up to him and check him when he throws unnecessary tantrums. Shalini (Anuja Iyer), Meera’s friend, is a shy, reserved Muslim girl from a very strict family background. She is often preoccupied with her own thoughts. Karthik (Lollu Sabha Jeeva) is a total showoff who tries to humiliate Shiva and Shakthi, but ends up making a fool of himself.

Srinivasan (Dhanush) escapes from jail and hitches a ride on a truck to meet his love Thulasi (Priyamani). He reveals his flashback to the lorry driver, telling him of the disputes between his ambitious father and himself. When the parents leave home for a week, Srinivasan is left in the maid’s care. Soon, he meets the maid’s daughter, Thulasi, his childhood playmate, and they fall in love. As expected, his father objects to his son falling in love with Thulasi. One day, Srinivasan and his friends land up in prison for crashing their car on a police vehicle. While at the police station, Srinivasan locks horns with an inmate in jail and when he pushes him in a fit of rage, he sustains a serious head injury subsequently killing him. Eventually Srinivasan gets convicted for 10-year-rigorous imprisonment. His mother dies, and Thulasi’s family goes bankrupt and leaves to their native village in Ooty. A dejected Srinivasan escapes from prison to meet Thulasi. Whether the two join together forms the rest of the story.

Kadhal Mudichu is a tribute to yesteryear actresses now forgotten by the media and the masses. In the film Akbar Ahmed (Prithviraj) is a highly successful director who wants base his next film on the life of yesteryear actress Malavika (Priyamani). While tracing her whereabouts he finds her diaries which show her whirlwind romance, marriage and consequent break up and its affect on her career. Akbars effors to find Malavika form the plot of the film.
