After the passing away of his dark-skinned wife, from who they sired Uday, Dubai-based criminal don, Shankar Shetty re-married a fair-skinned woman, who gave birth to fair-skinned Sanjana. After the couple’s passing, Uday takes over in his dad’s footsteps, and takes it upon himself to try and get Sanjana married – in vain, as no one wants to be associated with a crime family. Then Uday’s associate, Sagar Pandey, aspiring live-action painter, who had loved Iravati, got beat-up by her brothers, and was re-named Majnu, assists in finding a young man, Rajiv, who lives with his maternal uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo and aunt, and through extortion compels Ghunghroo to accept this alliance. But Ghunghroo, at the very first opportunity, gets Rajiv to fall in love with another young woman in Sun City, South Africa. When the time comes to get Rajiv formally engaged to this woman, he finds out that Sanjana and she are the very same woman.

The story alternates between Vikranth’s parents searching for him, while the flashback of the incidence are portrayed along the way. Eventually, near the end, the Pakistani girl suicides thinking her lover is going to die. However, Vikranth turns up to find her dead. This causes him to break down, eventually psychologically affecting him. As time goes on, Vikranth physical appearance changed to the point where no one recognizes him. The movie ends on a sad note, where his own mother fails to recognize her own son.

Leelatharan aka Lee (Sibiraj) hangs out with a bunch of merry youths who do practically any work and play football in other times. It is a strong-willed and thick-tied group. Chellama (Nila), a worker in a facility for the mentally-challenged, is also kind of a groupie. Life is all merry and mirth till she espies Lee & co, attempting an assassination of sorts on a minister. The bid fails, but Chellama is shocked and so are we. Anbu (Vishal) is a happy-go-lucky engineering student who lives with his family in Pattukottai and has fun with his friends. One day, he gets into a fracas with a local politician (Dhandapani) and his comic henchmen while trying to save a friend, and is arrested and has a case registered against him. The local court gives him conditional bail, provided that he signs the register in a Trichy police station. On the way to the police station, he sees a girl on a terrace (Motta Madi) drying clothes and falls for her. It is love at first sight for Anbu as he becomes crazy about Malar (Priyamani), a college girl, which leads to some hilarious situations. The police station, where he has to sign daily, is manned by his uncle Kandasamy (Ashish Vidyarthi), a comic inspector whose ex-lover Kamala (Urvasi) is the constable at the station. Anbu kindles his uncle’s love life and makes merry at Malar’s college, leading to funny situations. Meanwhile, Trichy is run by a powerful politician Palani (Devaraj) and his brother Guna (Ajay), who have killed the local RDO in cold blood, watched by a huge crowd of onlookers. The brothers continue with their ‘dadagiri’ until they clash with Anbu. The reason is that while trying to save Malar from a situation with Palani, Anbu ends up getting the wrath of the brothers. Although Malar’s mother wants to move away from the city, Anbu and his aunt convince her to stay and make Anbu Malar’s protector. He accompanies her and protects her from danger. After seeing his care, Malar slowly falls for Anbu and sees his true love for her. Palani causes problems for Anbu, but Anbu overcomes them and gets Palani killed by Kandasamy. Malar graduates and marries Anbu, and the story ends.

The story is set in a suburb of Madurai. Suryan (Bharath) and Chandran (Bharath) are twins. Suryan, the elder of the two is soft spoken guy who works at a local lending library and he falls in love with Manimekala (Bhavana), daughter of Namasivayam (Mahadevan) the local politician-don and MLA. Chandran, the younger one, works as a mortuary assistant in the local government hospital and he’s one among Namasivayam’s bad guys who are in charge of his election campaign. Chandran is romantically linked to a local girl,Tamizhselvi (Sandhya). Namasivayam comes to know about his daughter’s love affair with Suryan and he orders to some killers to kill Suryan. But accidentally they attack Chandran who succeeds in escaping from them.

The story revolves around an ego clash between father and son. Puli (Sundar C) is a local rowdy and the son of a math teacher Vedhukannu (Prakash Raj). Vedhukannu hates his son for being a rowdy and not being proficient in math. As part of a flashback, it is shown that young Puli was very good in physics, but his father, being a math teacher, wanted him to excel in math, which he was unable to do. As a result of repeated physical and mental abuse, Puli takes the wrong route to grow up. In the meantime, rival gangs and police try to kill him, but he is accidentally saved by his half-sister, a daughter from an affair his father had. Puli helps his half-sister in return for her unexpected help and vouches for her safety. The rival gangs kill her and put the blame on his father. How Puli brings the truth to light and unites with his family completes the rest of the movie.

On the D-day, Chandru is distracted by the memories of his love affair and loses the race and his auto. Later, Bigilu comes to know about the affair. The subplot of a smuggler’s search for missing pearls adds flavour to the proceedings. The unpredictable and fun-filled climax puts everything in order.

Since Suri is the unopposed kingpin, he has time for a song and dance on his birthday with his basti people. Everything is peaceful and hunky dory, but only until Stephen/Feroz (Kelly Dorji) enters the scene. He is a feared don throughout India who wants to add Andhra to his underworld fiefdom. Suri refuses to work with Stephen/Feroz. In many attempts to kill Suri, Stephen’s/Feroz’s men get killed. Rathnam (Kota Srinivasa Rao) wants to kill Raghava/Jadhav. Raghava/Jadhav kills Rathnam because the latter hosted a hideout for Stephen’s/Feroz’s men in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Suri falls in love with Priya (Anushka Shetty). At first, she doesn’t like him but later begins to like him. Raghava/Jadhav also finds a girl he likes. In that process, he is cornered, where his fiancé Nandhini (Nikita Thukral) ends up being on the villains side. Raghava/Jadhav is killed. In a final meet between Suri and Stephen/Feroz, the latter returns Raghava’s/Jadhav’s bullet-ridden body and challenges Suri to a fight on the condition that ‘A person will lose two of his men for each fall he takes’. Angered and heartbroken by Raghava’s/Jadhav’s death, Suri accepts his challenge. As the fight progresses, Suri loses two of his men. Determined to win, Suri continues the fight and thrashes up Stephen/Feroz and his two well-trained women bodyguards. The fight ends with Stephen/Feroz getting killed by Suri, and he warns Stephen’s/Feroz’s remaining men not to be like their boss.

Ganesh (Raghava Lawrence), a young man with a deep fear of ghosts who refuses go out after 6PM, moves into a new house with his mother (Kovai Sarala), father (Vinu Chakravarthy), and wife Priya (Vedhicka). All of a sudden, Ganesh gets possessed by a ghost and starts behaving in a rude manner; his family could not understand his behavior, so they seek the help of a priest Andaiyar (Nassar). Andaiyar asks the ghost about his whereabouts. The ghost says he is Muniyaandi (Rajkiran) and starts saying his flashback. Muni was a kindhearted, poor man living in the slums with his daughter and other people. His friend is MLA Marakka Dhandapani (Dhandapani), who uses Muni to make him win in elections and promises he would give lands to the poor villagers. Dhandapani wins the election but cheats Muni. Muni fights with Dhandapani, but Dhandapani kills him and his daughter. Dhandapani lies to the poor people, saying Muni and his daughter fled with the money he had given Muni for the welfare of the village residents. Ganesh enters Dhandapani’s household and terrorizes him and his assistants. Dhandapani comes to know that Muni’s spirit resides in Ganesh’s body, so he gets a shaman Mastan Bai (Rahul Dev) to save his life. Bhai bargains with Muni, who agrees to let Dhandapani go if he repents and helps the poor villagers. In the climax, at Ayyanaar temple, Dhandapani confesses to the people that he killed Muni and his daughter. He then leaves money with the villagers. Muni talks with the people and eats the feast prepared by them. Bhai tells Muni to leave Ganesh’s body, and he does. However, Dhandapani lied and was planning to get back all his money from the villagers. Ganesh, upon hearing this, kills Dhandapani. Bhai sees this act but does nothing, as he sees the injustice done by Dhandapani.

Latchiyam in this movie Ganesh (Prabhudeva) is a fantastic dancer. At the finals of a dance competition, he defeats Anthony and is selected to go to the international level. Anthony, who is a goonda in addition to being a good dancer, gets Ganesh beaten up. Ganesh is depressed and wants to give up everything. He is consoled by his sister Priya, played by Kamalinee. The he decides to pass on his dancing talent to a suitable heir.
This heir is identified as Raghava. Raghava (Lawrence) works at a dance school in Pudhucherry with four friends. All are outstanding dancers, but their talent remains unrecognized until they perform a folk dance in a hotel. Ganesh begins grooming Raghava as his prospective heir and makes him challenge Anthony in a thrilling finale.

Pasupathy (Ranjith) lives with his mother in a village and comes to town with the intent of finding a job. He fights against a few thugs and hands them over to police constable Daas (Vivek) following which Daas is promoted to sub-inspector. Pasupathy accompanies Das and his team most of the time. The underworld don Billa (Ajith Kumar), featured on Interpol’s criminal list, is hiding and operating out of Malaysia. DSP Jayaprakash (Prabhu) has spent the last few years looking for Billa, leaving behind a life in India.
During a chase with the police, Billa is severely wounded after an accident and dies in front of the DSP. The DSP then secretly holds a burial of Billa. Interpol officer Gokulnath (Rahman) is assigned to work with DSP Jayaprakash to capture elusive Billa as no-one knows of Billa’s death. DSP Jayaprakash keeps the death of Billa as a secret even from his fellow officers, and tracks down a look-alike called Saravana Velu (Ajith Kumar), a lowly pick-pocket. He asks Velu to infiltrate Billa’s gang by pretending to be Billa. In return he will make sure that the child Velu adopted, Karan, gets a proper education.
