Seattle PD is investigating the murder of a man and Sakshi, a deaf and mute artist, and her husband Antony, a renowned cello player, are related to it. The findings of the investigation forms the crux of the story of Nishabdham/Silence.

The film begins with a suicide bombing attack in Germany at a peace conference where Indian Home Minister (Sachin Khedekar) is affected by an unknown virus. In RAW headquarters, menon (Sarita Choudhury) joins the investigation. RAW HQ is threatened by a threat who calls himself Doctor. In HQ, army officer Aazaan Khan (Sachiin J Joshi) is interrogated about the case because of his brother’s, Aman Khan, involvement as a terrorist in the suicide bombings.
Aazaan is deployed in Waziristan to infiltrate the enemy force and to find the whereabouts of his brother. He travels from country to country to find the culprits and even becomes one of them to gain their confidence. Aazaan comes across two Pakistanis from whom he soon finds the whereabouts of the kingpin, the Doctor. The Doctor has taken hold of Mahfouz (Dalip Tahil) and has seized the cure for the virus from him, so now he has both the weapon and its antidote. He knows that Aazaan is with the cops, and both are led to be killed in the market square. Aazaan breaks free and tries to rescue the scientist, but it’s too late. Before being detonated by a strapped bomb, he tells Aazaan to find a sand artist in Morocco and a girl with her, as they have the cure for the virus.

Annamalai’s photograph appears in a newspaper along with an interview of Maria (Rachana Maurya), who claims herself to be a saint propounding a new faith. She describes him as her God, Vaali. A mafia-turned-spiritualist she attributes her transformation to him in the interview. This prompts three women to come calling Maria all the way.
The three women were cheated by him recently and they probe Maria of Annamalai’s whereabouts. The three women, Sakhi (Sruthi Prakash), Nisha (Swetha Menon) and an actress Deepa (Lakshmi Rai) try to prove Maria that he was a cheat. However she doesn’t believe them.

Deepak is an retired police officer. He meets an young man who is interested in joining IPS. The young guy asks about the case of a mystry killer in which deepak lost his leg and his career. Thus he explains about the unsolved mystry case. But in the end the case is solved by the young man, and deepak meets his ultimate end.

Susi’s family is stalked by a vengeful killer. During an attempt to save Susi from this madman, her boyfriend, Baskar, gets a good look at the attacker’s eyes. Using this as a clue Baskar attempts to find the person haunting Susi’s family.

An unnamed man (Naseeruddin Shah) carries a travel bag, assumed to contain explosives, in the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station and proceeds to hide the bag in the restroom of a police station opposite to the Mumbai Police headquarters. He then arrives on the rooftop of a building under construction where he has set up his base of operations, equipped with several sim cards, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets. He calls Rathod and informs him that he has placed five bombs in locations throughout Mumbai and has programmed them to explode simultaneously within four hours unless the Commissioner gives in to his demands and releases four militants. In response, Rathod immediately alerts his team involved in intelligence research and surveillance, tapping all the available resources to trace the location of the caller. Meanwhile, the caller tips off television news reporter Naina Roy (Deepal Shaw), telling her to reach the police headquarters immediately as it is going to be “the most important day of her life”. Rathod initially suspects the anonymous caller is bluffing, but his doubts are dispelled as the caller, to prove his seriousness and the police force’s helplessness, reveals that a bomb has been planted in the Colaba Police Station right across the Police Headquarter. He further scares them by calling the cell phone attached to the bomb but does not detonate the bomb. Just then Roy reaches the scene on the caller’s instructions and reports about the situation.

The film starts with Ashok Kumar aka AK (Ajith Kumar) setting bombs in three places and informing the police about them. Before the police arrive, the bombs are set off. AK, along with his lady love Maya (Nayanthara), threatens her old college mate hacker Arjun (Arya), who is forced to hack one system after another. AK then threatens Sriram Raghavan (Aadukalam Naren) by trying to kill his child so that he can extract the truth about black money. AK then murders Sriram. Arjun, who is irritated by the things happening around him, complains about AK’s misdeeds to Inspector Prakash (Kishore). When AK gets closer to achieving his goals, Arjun gives him away to the police, and both are arrested. Arjun is later released after his true identity is revealed.

Prabhakar (Jiiva) is a Tamil teacher in a private school in west Mambalam area of Chennai, who leads a lonely life in a lodge. He is frustrated and even tries to commit suicide, in a system where knowing your mother tongue and teaching it is looked down upon by a society craving for material benefits and imbalance in pay structure.
The narration is mostly in a series of flashbacks. Prabhakar, for no fault of his, is at the receiving end, terrorized by cops and on the run after killing a railway booking clerk in a fit of rage. He roams all around the country and joins some saadhus, high on pot and also grows his hair long and keeps a shaggy beard. Finally he wants to exorcise the devils within and at gun point kidnaps a television anchor Yuvaan-Suang(Karunas), who records his life story, where he confesses to killing 22 people in cold blood.

Anu (Anasuya Kasaba) an aspiring director develops a script on a producer’s request. Twist in the tale arises when the murders scripted in the story start happening in real life. The parallel story is crux of Kathanam.

Sarojini drops her handkerchief while in her car, then Arivadhanam swaps it with a paper and gives it to her. She accepts it, then Arivadhanam phones her and tells her she met with Citizen. Outraged, Sarojini decides to ambush his hideout. They track down his location, but he is nowhere to be found. They find masks, computers, and newspaper cuttings. Sarojini finds Arivadhanam in a mosque and arrests him. Arivadhanam is taken to court and is inquired about why he kidnapped the officials. He retells his memory.

Soon Swapna’s dead body turns up and he becomes the main suspect in the murder investigation and is on the run from police. As his face is plastered in wanted ads all over the city and police are watching Sharadha’s house, he goes to meet Radha.
Radha, who always considered Dileep as her brother as he was always nice to her, helps him and lets him stay in her apartment. The next morning, when Dileep wakes up and turn on the tap, the water is bloody red and he hears screaming coming from the apartment water tank. He goes to investigate when a group of people are gathered around the tank and is shocked to find Radha’s bloody body inside the tank. Soon people recognize him from the wanted ad and mistakenly think that he murdered Radha. He is once again on the run from police for the murders.
He starts to investigate the murders and deduce that the only thing the two girls had in common, apart from him, was the modeling agency. When he secretively meets up with Sharadha, he finds a small incision on her body. Remembering that the other two girls had the same incision, he questions her. Although she doesn’t remember how she got it, she remembers that she didn’t have one before she left on a photo shoot abroad for the agency. She also finds it strange that she was unconscious for a few hours during the shoot but cannot remember what happened.
They eventually find out that Oberoi, has a nefarious business through his modeling agency. He drugs the models during the photo shoot abroad, operates them and smuggles diamonds into India using their bodies. When the models return to India, they again drug the model and take it out and kill the girl.
Dileep gets captured by Oberoi’s goons but with the help of his editor and his girlfriend, he has already got the truth out. Before Oberoi can kill Dileep, they hear the police siren coming towards him. Oberoi, an obsessive diamond collector, rather than get caught and go to prison, eats his own diamonds and commits suicide.

So he vows to kill Vembuli’s son by the 12th day ceremony of his son. A twist of fate occurs and Pavadai’s goons mistake Kunjidhapadam to be Subrahmanyam and get him to take money. Kunjidhapadam gives an idea to kill Vembuli’s son and he is given a 16-day deadline to kill else Pavadai threatens to kill him

The plot opens with the introduction of Ravi (Prasanna), an electronics engineer who introduces himself as a youthful guy who aspires to become a businessman. He meets Viswanath (S. P. Balasubrahmanyam), the CEO of Trust Bank in a golf course, when he fights to grab a bag belonging to Viswanath from a stranger. Ravi saves Viswanath and chases the stranger. Ravi meets Nandhini (Ramya Raj), a divorced news reporter in a golf club, and they become friends. Slowly, love blossoms between them, and Ravi, once during his date with Nandhini, is attacked by Nandhini’s ex-husband Raghu. He counterattacks him and goes home. At home, Ravi meets Fareed (Sibiraj), who tells that Ravi killed Raghu and there are evidences to prove. Fareed also kidnaps Nandhini. Ravi is confident that he did not kill him, but he has to obey the words of helping them rob the bank to save himself and Nandhini. Fareed says he is an ex-employee of Trust Bank and was fired by Viswanth for fund mismanagement.
