The film starts with Ashok Kumar aka AK (Ajith Kumar) setting bombs in three places and informing the police about them. Before the police arrive, the bombs are set off. AK, along with his lady love Maya (Nayanthara), threatens her old college mate hacker Arjun (Arya), who is forced to hack one system after another. AK then threatens Sriram Raghavan (Aadukalam Naren) by trying to kill his child so that he can extract the truth about black money. AK then murders Sriram. Arjun, who is irritated by the things happening around him, complains about AK’s misdeeds to Inspector Prakash (Kishore). When AK gets closer to achieving his goals, Arjun gives him away to the police, and both are arrested. Arjun is later released after his true identity is revealed.

Brahmin boy Satya (Navdeep) comes from Nagercoil to Chennai to join an engineering college. His problems begin when he encounters his father, the dreaded don Adhi Narayanan (Prakash Raj), and Adhi’s adopted son Kutty (Arya). Satya’s girlfriend Sandhya (Sameksha) is wounded in a shootout between Adhi’s gang and his rivals. Satya, on the prodding of ACP Thiagarajan (Adithya Menon), is all set to identify Kutty as the culprit. Intimidated and threatened by the gang and in a state of confusion, Satya is shocked when Adhi and Kutty make friendly overtures to him. Satya’s life takes a comical and drastic turn.

The film opens with a bully fight between two individuals on a rainy night in a deep, dark forest. In the opening scene, a title card is presented with a Upanishad quote: “Death is just the beginning of another life”.
Karthik (Arya) is a young happy-go-lucky carefree architect, who, one day, comes across a young beautiful girl, Sandhya (Trisha Krishnan) in a go-karting race. Karthik immediately falls in love with Sandhya and wants to convince her to marry him. Sandhya is a pediatric doctor due to her love for children. Karthik finds out several pieces of information about her, and arranges a meeting by pretending that she had caused a car accident and damaged his car. When that approach fails, he goes to the hospital, where Sandhya works, becoming a regular visitor there and making efforts to woo her. Sandhya, however, has other interests and shows no signs of reciprocating his love. She believes Karthik is too carefree and not serious about life. He keeps following her and trying to convince her. One day, Sandhya’s parents tell her about her to-be-fixed marriage. She finally recognizes that Karthik is apparently the right match, and slowly develops a deep love for him. She wholeheartedly agrees with the marriage.

A mysterious man along with a young computer hacker tries to unveil a major government conspiracy which resulted in several bloody deaths.

Two passionate people with dreams swap places accidentally by fate and their common key to get back their lost life is to defeat the antagonist through the girl whom he wants dead since she can foresee the future.

The underworld don Billa (Ajith Kumar), featured on Interpol’s criminal list, is hiding and operating out of Malaysia. DSP Jayaprakash (Prabhu) has spent the last few years looking for Billa, leaving behind a life in India.
During a chase with the police, Billa is severely wounded after an accident and dies in front of the DSP. The DSP then secretly holds a burial of Billa. Interpol officer Gokulnath (Rahman) is assigned to work with DSP Jayaprakash to capture elusive Billa as no-one knows of Billa’s death. DSP Jayaprakash keeps the death of Billa as a secret even from his fellow officers, and tracks down a look-alike called Saravana Velu (Ajith Kumar), a lowly pick-pocket. He asks Velu to infiltrate Billa’s gang by pretending to be Billa. In return he will make sure that the child Velu adopted, Karan, gets a proper education.
