Durairaj (Sarath Kumar) is a lorry driver who is tough as a nail. He had a bitter childhood, has no relatives or friends, and his only solace is Jayaram (Jayaram), his cleaner who is just the opposite of him. Jayaram is a happy-go-lucky guy who dotes on his wife Mallika (Meena), mother (Vadivukkarasi), and daughter, and dreams of making enough money to build a small house for his family. Durai and Jayaram share a special bond, as they understand each other well.
On his way to see his family, Jayaram dies in an accident, and Durai goes to his village with the body. There he finds that Jayaram’s family needs his help, and out of sympathy, he decides to settle there and build a small house according to his friend’s last wish. There he comes across a local landlord Vijayan (Vijayan), who cheats the illiterate villagers by giving them loans and later taking over their property. Then there is a tea shop owner Vasantha (Ramya Krishnan), on whom the entire men folk lust. But she is hardworking, and at the same time foul-mouthed and a terror. Vasantha’s brother, who is in love with Vijayan’s daughter, starts the fight between the Vijayan and Durai. Durai works hard to make a house for Mallika, and when the villagers suspect his good intentions, he proves to them that he has a sisterly affection towards her, as he has a soft corner for Vasantha. As the fight goes on for Durai and Vijayan, Vijayan destroys the house that Durai built for his friends. Of this anger, he tries to get revenge. How Durai wins over the villagers and fights against injustice against Vijayan and his son forms the rest of the story.

Vijayakumar is the rich head of the village (Manicheran Gounder) with his wife Manjula and his beautiful daughter Srija. He is a person of who strictly adheres to the caste. Sarathkumar is also a rich landlord in the same village. Though the father of both Vijayakumar and Sarathkumar are one but Sarathkumar’s mother was from a lower caste. So Vijayakumar always ignores and berates Sarathkumar. Their father, before dying divided his entire property equally between the 2 families. Yet Vijayakumar’s family gets first respect within the circle. The house of their father was equally split into exact 2 halves. Anandbabu who is a relative of Sarathkumar comes to meet him in the village and falls in love with Srija. Vijayakumar comes to know about this and he makes arrangements for Srija’s marriage with K.S.Ravikumar, son of Nagesh. At the end Vijayakumar becomes a good person with the advice of Manjula and a happy end of Anandbabu marrying Srija.
Jaggubhai 2010
Jagannathan (Sarath Kumar), fondly known as Jaggubhai, is a tough, upright, straightforward Indian police officer with sharp methods. His way of dealing with the criminals strikes terror in the underground world. Jaggubhai is sent to Australia on an important mission to deal with antisocial elements there. In Australia, he meets Ilavarasi (Srisha), and they fall in love with each other. Jaggubhai fails in his mission for which he came to Australia, and the brief romance with Ilavarasi ends abruptly. Jaggubhai returns to India as a dejected officer, failing in his official duty and personal life. Fate had something in store for him. 20 years later, or as he says it 21 years later, he gets a call from Australia stating Ilavarasi is dead and has left him a will. He reaches Australia and is shocked to know the brief encounter with Ilavarasi had resulted in a daughter Monisha (Shriya Saran), now a teenager.

Thenali Soman (Kamal Haasan) is a Sri Lankan Tamil who has come to Chennai for psychiatric treatment because of numerous phobias caused by his trauma of the Sri Lankan Civil War. Panchabhootham (Delhi Ganesh) and his assistant (Ramesh Khanna), the doctors treating Thenali, are jealous of a relatively junior doctor Kailash (Jayaram) getting all the media attention. They send Thenali over to him, believing his failure to cure Thenali of his phobias will derail his success. Soon after their first appointment, Kailash heads to his home in Kodaikanal on a vacation with his wife Jalaja (Devayani) and his two children Arjun (Master Suraj) and Aishwarya (Baby Taj Nisha). Kailash tells Thenali to wait until after the vacation before his therapy can begin, but Panchabhootham asks for Thenali to go meet Kailash while on vacation.
Mudinja Ivana Pudi 2016
Mudinja Ivana Pudi is about one person donning the dual shades of good and bad. Satya (Sudeep) is a mild-natured, small-time youngster running a real estate agency, led by authoritative Shubha (Nithya Menen). Satya leads another life as Shiva (Sudeep), a burglar who loots the huge unaccounted money stocked by filthy rich businessmen. His purpose is to realise his father’s dream of becoming a billionaire, riding a Mercedes Benz car and leading a posh life. He manages to convince the cops and those around him that those crimes are the handiwork of his look-alike ruffian twin Shiva. However, the two businessmen (Mukesh Tiwari & Sharath Lohitashwa) he robbed from, and ACP Kishore (P. Ravi Shankar), a corrupt cop who tries to use this as an opportunity to make money, are keen on nailing him. Meanwhile, Satya falls in love with Shubha who is an upright and brave girl. The police needs to nab the burglar. Satya himself launches a complaint that it is his brother Shiva who does all the crimes. Kishore does not believe the existence of two people and suspects the hero and villain to be one, but he does not have the evidence to prove his claim. At the end Satya proves that he is one in a million.

Shiva and Vishnu (both played by Ajith Kumar) are identical twins. Shiva, the elder one, is a bus conductor, while Vishnu, the younger one, has a mild intellectual disability. Shiva overhears his parents’ plot to kill Vishnu. He runs away to another city with Vishnu and strives hard to look after him. A ‘dada’ Sundaramoorthy (FEFSI Vijayan), who runs a beggar trade, beats Vishnu brutally, and Vishnu becomes handicapped for life. Shiva leaves Vishnu in a home run by a social worker Lalitha (Sujatha). During the day, Shiva works as a bus conductor, and at the same time, poses as Vishnu: to play Robin Hood and steal from the rich and corrupt. A gang including Thangam (Meena), Ramesh Khanna, and others assist him in these operations. He is never suspected, and so, with the stolen money, he takes care of not only Vishnu, but also 800 people in other institutions for the physically handicapped. A college student Lavanya (Kiran Rathod) falls in love with Shiva, but he later comes to know she is Sundaramoorthy’s sister-in-law. Matters worsen when Sundaramoorthy becomes the chairman of the institute for the physically disabled. How Shiva deals with the situation forms the rest of the story. Meanwhile, Thangam is in love with Shiva, though he does not know this. Later she gives up her love and lets Lavanya marry Shiva. At last, Shiva marries Lavanya and Thangam marries Vishnu.

Chinnayya (Sarath Kumar) works for a rich man Ayya (Vijayakumar) in a village. Chinnayya has great respect and affection towards Ayya and Ayya, too, takes care of Chinnayya and looks after him as his own son. Ayya hates his first daughter Gowri (Sithara) and her husband (Mansoor Ali Khan). Prabhavathy (Simran), Ayya’s younger daughter, arrives at the village after completing her education from the US. Prabhavathy loves Chinnayya but he does not reciprocate, thinking this would be a betrayal of Ayya’s trust in him. Later, Chinnayya too understands Prabhavathy’s love and accepts it.
Lingaa 2014
A dam in the village of Solaiyur, which is the lifeline of that village is under assessment for structural integrity by the Public Works Department. The dam inspector (Ponvannan) assesses that the dam is still strong 75 years after it was built. Later that evening, he is hanged to death by the corrupt local MP Nagabhushan (Jagapathi Babu), who wants the dam destroyed for his own benefit. The dying dam inspector throws a pen drive containing details about the proposed plan to destroy the dam into an abandoned Shiva temple near the dam and warns the village head Karunakara (K. Viswanath) that the temple has to be opened as soon as possible, after which he passes away. Karunakara and the villagers are of the opinion that the temple can only be opened by the descendant of Raja Lingeswaran (Rajnikanth), who built the dam as well as the Shiva temple. Lakshmi (Anushka Shetty), the granddaughter of Karunakara and a television journalist, goes on a search to find the Raja’s descendant. She soon manages to find the descendant, whose name is Lingeswaran aka Lingaa (Rajnikanth). Lingaa is the grandson of Raja Lingeswaran, but is a petty thief with his family having now fallen on hard times. He holds a grudge against his grandfather, feeling that he had brought down his family into poverty by squandering all his wealth and hence refuses to go with Lakshmi to Solaiyur. However, Lakshmi implicates Lingaa in a robbery, as a result of which the police pursue Lingaa. Lingaa is forced to accept Lakshmi’s invitation to avoid getting caught and travels with her to Solaiyur.
Manmadhan Ambu 2010
Ambujakshi alias “Ambu” (Trisha), a film actress, arrives in Europe to spend the vacations with her friend Deepa (Sangeetha), a divorcee and her two children. While going in a taxi, Ambu recalls an early incident regarding her ex-boyfriend Madhanagopal alias Madhan (Madhavan), a wealthy entrepreneur: Three years ago, she was shooting for a film with actor Suriya in a bright park and Madhan was suspicious of her relationship with the actor. While returning, he lets Ambu drive his new car. Madhan advised Ambu to stop acting, but Ambu claimed it as her profession which she cannot give up, leading to an argument that caused their car to crash near a rock. At the same time they blamed a small white car that just passed by, to be the reason for the crash. Unable to bear any more arguments, Ambu broke her relationship with Madhan and walked away.

Padayappa is a mechanical engineer who returns to his village from Chennai after three years to attend his sister’s wedding. Padayappa’s family have been the richest landlords of their village and Chieftains for their region. Padayappa’s great grandfather had decreed all Hindu marriages in their region must take place in the Murugan temple, after the chieftain has verbally confirmed the consent from bride and groom. This tradition has been followed for 100 years and now Padayappa’s father is the chieftain. Padayappa’s younger sister is engaged to their maternal cousin Suryaprakash. During his stay, he comes across Vasundhara, and falls in love with her. However, shyness and fear of Neelambari, her landlady, prevents Vasundhara from initially expressing her feelings. Additionally, Neelambari is Suryaprakash’s spoilt US-returned sister who also loves Padayappa.

Selvarasu (Sarath Kumar) is the head of his family, and his two brothers Thangarasu (Murali) and Chinnarasu (Manoj Bharathiraja) are ready to give up their lives for him. The three brothers think the world of their sister Rasamani (Kaveri). A rich man (Pyramid Natarajan) from the neighboring village feels insulted when Thangarasu mishandles his son, and to take revenge, he makes Rasamani his daughter-in-law. Starting with taking away all the brothers’ wealth, he insults them at every opportunity while ill-treating Rasamani. At last in the climax, Rasamani’s husband and father-in-law reform and accept her and her brothers.
Saravana 2006
Saravana (Silambarasan) and Krishna (Krishna) are close buddies in college. Saravana sees a video tape of Krishna’s sister Sadhana (Jyothika) studying in London and falls in love with her. So to meet her, Saravana goes with Krishna to a village near Tirunelveli where he finds that there is a bloody war going on between two warring caste groups. Krishna’s brother Soundarapandi (Prakash Raj) his wife and Krishna are killed by the rival group of Dorai Singam. However Saravana saves Sadhana and takes her to Chennai. Initially Sadhana is not accepted by Saravana’s large family but slowly when they come to know about her background they support and love her. The rest of the film is how Saravana tries to help Sadhana to go back to London, and in the process eliminates the entire gang of Dorai Singam single-handedly.

Manigandan is a server in a hotel who is a devotee of Lord Ayyappan (the bachelor god). He follows a fasting for Ayyappan and is very sincere and honest. One day a businessman, named Dharmaraj, visits the hotel where Manigandan works. He admires Mani’s sincerity and offers him the General Manager job in his factory at Ooty. Dharmaraj takes Mani to his factory and office to introduce him to his employees who do not do any work but play games, sit idle, watch TV etc. Innocent Mani does not understand why employees does not work but gets scared that he must manage all of them, a task which was impossible for 419 managers before him.
Mani sees a girl who breaks everything she sees, and yet Dharmaraj pays for everything she broke. He finds out that she is Vennila, daughter of Dharmaraj who is a spoilt young lady who cannot be controlled even by her father. Mani and Vennila fight frequently. Vennila makes every attempt to get rid of him, but a spark develops between them.

Bio-scientist Govindarajan Ramaswamy speaks at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium about chaos theory and the butterfly effect. He begins by reciting events from the 12th century in Chidambaram, when King Kulothunga Chola II, a Saivite, persecutes Vaishnavites and intends to destroy an idol of Govindaraja. Rangarajan Nambi, a Vaishnavite, protects it and offends the king, who orders Rangarajan to be executed by being pierced, stoned, submerged into the sea with the idol, before being devoured by the shark, thus the king succeeding.
On 20 December 2004, a nano bio-technology lab in the United States designs a vector-virus intended as a bio-weapon. When they were watching the insound of his lab monkey breaking out of his cage and retrieving a sample of the test virus. The monkey, who thinks the vial as the usual chocolate Govind would feed him, swallows the sample of the virus. Govind and his co-workers watch helplessly as monkey dies. Govind, saddened by the event, quarantines the lab room by filling it with concentrated salt solution, the only antidote to the virus. After understanding the original virus’s lethal potential the hard way, Govind refuses to hand over the main single vial containing the virus, due to fear of misuse. However, his boss, Dr. Sethu, has a malicious plan in mind, and tries to sell it to a terrorist group. Govind tries to sneak the vial out of the lab in order to save the vial from Sethu’s evil plan, but is pursued by the security guard and the police. Govind flees to his friend and coworker Suresh’s house for refuge, who secretly betrays him.
Avvai Shanmugi 1996
The film starts in a courtroom where a woman Janaki (Meena) is fighting for divorce from her husband Pandian (Kamal Haasan). She offers various reasons for wanting a divorce. She has married Pandian against the wishes of her rich father Vishwanathan Iyer (Gemini Ganesan). But she isn’t able to come to terms with living in Pandian’s small house without amenities. Pandian is an assistant dance director with a modest income and is not able to spend much time with the family. All this accumulates and Janaki decides to apply for divorce, which is granted. The court orders that Pandian can meet his daughter Barathi, once a week and this is his only solace. His daughter, however, loves him a lot and doesn’t like the arrangement. Basha (Nassar), Pandian’s Muslim friend who works in a hotel as a chef, advises him to steal his daughter from Janaki. Pandian goes about trying to do as his friend suggests. In doing so, he is discovered; and now he cannot meet her at all. Then Pandian finds out that Vishwanathan Iyer has advertised for a woman to look after his granddaughter. Joseph (Nagesh) is a makeup man in films. In conversation with him, Pandian gets the idea of playing an old woman, so that he can be with his child and ex-wife without knowing them. Joseph agrees to this plan and the transformation is done from Pandian to “Avvai Shanmugi”– (also Kamal Haasan) a dignified, elderly Iyer woman, who is hired to take care of the little girl.
